Role Summary
As Senior Manager, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the T. Rowe Price Foundation’s mission, driving meaningful impact in our communities and inspiring excellence within our team. This position is not only about overseeing a grant portfolio and cultivating key nonprofit relationships, but also about empowering and developing the Foundation team to grow professionally and deliver strong results.
You’ll collaborate with the broader Community Investment team, champion innovative giving programs, and lead strategic community engagement initiatives. By strengthening our processes and leveraging best practices, technology, and emerging trends, you will help ensure we deliver on our mission and values with even greater effectiveness.
Reporting to the President of the T. Rowe Price Foundation and Head of Community Affairs, you will be a strategic leader, passionate advocate, and catalyst for lasting change.
Responsibilities
Lead & Inspire: Manage and mentor a small, high-performing team, fostering professional growth and aligning efforts with the Foundation’s strategic goals.
Drive Grant Strategy: Shape and oversee grantmaking priorities, operational processes, and technology systems to maximize impact; collaborate with Foundation team and leadership to create annual budgets for board approval
Build Relationships: Cultivate and sustain key partnerships with nonprofit organizations, grantees, and community stakeholders. Track interactions in the Foundation’s grants management/CRM system.
Grants Management: Invite, review and analyze and respond to grant requests and review grant reports, work closely with Grants Administrator and fellow relationship managers.
Champion Community Engagement: Serve as an advocate and active participant in community events and meetings, supporting grantees in turning strategy into action, and collaborating with other Community Investment team members to identify associate engagement opportunities.
Collaborate & Represent with External and Internal Stakeholders: Act as a Foundation ambassador with city officials, nonprofit leaders, and external partners, driving collaboration and innovative solutions. Internally, support Foundation President in advancing the firm’s philanthropic strategy, goals, and connectivity with internal stakeholders across the firm and its clients.
Continuously Improve Processes: Lead learning initiatives and bring insights from philanthropy and corporate responsibility networks to inform our work; develop and facilitate monitoring and evaluation framework in collaboration with colleagues, and assist in its implementation including baseline data gathering, monitoring and evaluation strategies and systems to effectively support grantees’ goals and outcomes.
Lead Special Projects: Strategize, develop, and execute new programs and initiatives that align with the Foundation’s mission.
Foundation tools & technology: Oversee Foundation’s technology roadmap including Salesforce grants management system maintenance, working with the Foundation and tech team to make updates to processes, flows and dashboards as needed.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND 8+ years of total relevant work experience.
Preferred:
10+ years of experience in philanthropy or the nonprofit sector, preferably in a corporate philanthropic environment, that includes demonstrated success in designing and implementing grantmaking strategies, managing complex portfolios, building and sustaining partnerships with nonprofit organizations, and driving measurable community impact.
Deep understanding of community development, nonprofit health, grantmaking practices and awareness and ability to navigate power imbalances.
Expertise in financial well-being, education, youth development, and arts and culture grantmaking or nonprofits.
Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills, with a proven ability to measure and report outcomes to guide decision making and maximize impact.
Proven ability to lead and empower a team, with high emotional intelligence and a commitment to inclusion and belonging.
Experience working with diverse communities and in multi-stakeholder environments.
Ability to drive results in matrixed organization and adapt to change with creativity.
Strategic thought leader with a track record in community-based solutions.
Skilled in managing external relationships and influencing senior-level stakeholders.
Experience using grants/giving technology platforms (e.g., Salesforce), and/or designing and maintaining grants/giving systems to improve efficiency and transparency.
Active engagement in philanthropy networks and ability to bring innovative ideas and best practices to inform strategy and operations.
Skilled at leading organizational change, implementing new processes, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Work Flexibility
This role is eligible for hybrid work, with up to one day per week from home.
Base Salary Ranges

$108,000.00 - $184,000.00 for the location of: Maryland, Colorado, Washington and remote workersPlacement within the range provided above is based on the individual’s relevant experience and skills for the role. Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
