Job Description:
Lead/Support the Head of Strategy & Enablement in executing strategic & M&A initiatives, aligning the vision/purpose, preparing the business case, securing the resources required, mobilizing cross-functional workstreams and achieving the OKRs
Support annual strategic planning process, defining the mid-/long-term strategy house, identifying pivots, detailing out the strategic pillars and underlying initiatives with alignment and support from key stakeholders
Gather competitive intelligence, conduct market research and evaluate industry trends in Life & Health and Wealth & Pension sectors for Sun Life. Translate insights into actionable strategies
Organize regular executive committee offsites, crafting the agenda with CEO and/or executive committee members, inviting internal/external presenters, following up on actions and ensuring an execution-focused, strategic discussion
Collaborate with local, regional and corporate stakeholders across functions and seniorities to ensure all required parties are aligned and informed of SLHK’s strategy and execution progress with support from the Head of Strategy & Enablement. Work with external stakeholders on partnership and M&A initiatives as required
Preferred skills
Undergraduate and Masters in Corporate Finance, Business Administration or similar discipline preferred
8 or more years of experience in business strategy and transformation from management consultancy firms or financial services institutions
Strong numerical capabilities combined with strong commercial acumen; advanced financial modeling techniques
Ability to structure clear and compelling communications for senior executive audiences
Track record of leading successful project delivery and realizing business impact; strong understanding and experience in project management (agile/waterfall)
Extensive subject matter expertise across the Life Insurance value chain (including insurance) gained through multi-year experience at top-tier industry players or management consultancies
Demonstrate strong tech-savviness by leveraging AI tools (e.g., generative models) and productivity software; utilize data analytics platforms for market trend analysis and performance tracking; stay current with emerging technologies
Demonstrate capacity for independent work and strategic thinking
Show resilience through adaptability in dynamic business environments
Thrive in ambiguous situations by remaining agile; adapt quickly to changing priorities while maintaining strategic focus; make decisive impact despite incomplete information
Qualifications
