Base salary will be in the range $138,006 - $145,943 + 17% Superannuation + annual market loading to increase your take home package (HEW Level 9)

The Senior Manager, Strategic Delivery and Design leads a critical portfolio of enterprise application services, shaping strategy, managing demand and overseeing the delivery of complex initiatives that support the University’s strategic objectives. Reporting to the Director of Higher Education Technologies, this role provides thought leadership across application design and delivery, ensures strong governance and portfolio management, and leads a multidisciplinary team responsible for delivering high-quality digital services to the UQ community. Operating in a complex and evolving environment, the role balances strategic planning, stakeholder consultancy and operational delivery to ensure UQ remains a leader in higher education digital experiences.
The total package for this role may include an annual market loading amount in addition to the base salary, increasing your total remuneration dependant on skills and experience. This will be discussed as part of the interview process.
Key responsibilities will include:
Lead strategic design, planning and governance for a portfolio of enterprise application initiatives, ensuring alignment with the Technology Master Plan, enterprise architecture and best practice ICT standards.
Partner with senior stakeholders across the University to provide trusted consultancy, understand evolving business needs and translate them into well-designed, high-value solutions.
Manage demand, portfolio prioritisation and initiative delivery, including business case development, discovery activities, vendor engagement and commercial negotiations.
Provide strong people leadership and performance management, building a high-performing team culture focused on quality delivery, continuous improvement and service excellence.

You are a senior technology leader with a strong strategic mindset and a proven ability to operate effectively at the intersection of business needs, technology delivery and people leadership. You bring depth of experience managing enterprise applications, leading teams through change and delivering complex initiatives in large, complex organisations.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Postgraduate qualifications in IT or a related field, or an equivalent combination of extensive experience and education
Extensive experience leading the development and support of enterprise software and web applications in complex environments
Proven capability managing portfolios, major initiatives, procurement activities and budgets to deliver high-quality outcomes
Strong strategic, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design and implement innovative solutions within governance frameworks
Highly developed stakeholder engagement, communication and negotiation skills, with experience operating at senior levels
Demonstrated ability to manage demand, prioritisation and portfolio roadmaps in dynamic environments
A strong track record in people leadership, workforce planning, performance management and building high-performing teams
A commitment to continuous improvement and staying current with emerging technologies, best practices and industry trends
