The Salesforce Web Platforms team is responsible for the innovation of the Salesforce digital experience globally, leveraging best-in-class technology and systems—including Salesforce’s platform. We continually seek to achieve a balance between creativity and technology, and are looking for a Senior Manager, Software Engineering with ability to lead multiple high-performance scrum teams.

This role :

As a hands-on engineering leader, you will lead a team of top-notch Software developers, contribute to the engineering and operational practices and bring in a continuous improvement mindset. Your greatest responsibility will be looking after the individuals reporting to you – coaching and supporting them in their professional development, unlocking their potential, and challenging them to step outside their comfort zone to grow and excel.

You will lead technical discussions, driving clarity of complex issues/requirements to build robust solutions and work closely with our design, product management and architecture team to influence the direction of the product and plan the steps to get there. You will also be responsible for effective collaboration across multi-functional teams, and will provide marketing stakeholders the world-class CMS features they need to engage with website customers and visitors.

Required Skills/Experience

  • 12+ years of professional experience with 4+ years in people management and leading software engineering teams
  • Experience in leading full stack web application teams using modern front-end technologies such as ReactJs, SCSS with good understanding of web and accessibility standards, localisation and SEO optimisation.
  • Good understanding of technology and architecture in a highly scalable and available setup
  • Experience in driving quality through automation and ability to drive technical excellence, pushing innovation and operational excellence.
  • Experience running scrum processes, and have worked on a product that was actually released for public consumption
  • Strong verbal and written interpersonal skills, impeccable organizational and time management skills
  • Good stakeholder management skills and experience working directly with product management and business users.
  • Ability to take ownership of project delivery and multi-task on multiple projects/feature development
  • Good understanding of Object Oriented development/design aspects
  • Experienced in driving/ coaching a high performance team, recruiting and retaining top talent.


Desired Skills/Experience

  • Hands on experience of working in modern front-end technologies such as ReactJs, SCSS with good understanding of web and accessibility standards, localisation and SEO optimisation.
  • Experience in building well-engineered, usable, and accessible systems
  • Experience with technologies like content management and personalization.
