Position Summary
Do you have experience in fin tech or supply chain tech and a passion for solving hard problems? Walmart is building a small but mighty team to work at the intersection of accounts payable and supply chain, addressing potential issues early in the Inventory lifecycle to ensure accurate and timely payment to our suppliers. We’ll gather data and form hypotheses, rapidly build POCs, then test and learn. We’ll find agenting solutions that pull data from disparate sources to streamline complex business processes. When we find what works, we’ll grow our team and build for Walmart scale.
As a Senior Manager, Software Engineering, you will build and lead a high-performing software engineering team. You will drive the delivery of POCs in a rapid test and learn environment. You must be comfortable jumping in and being hands on. As we gain conviction in our products, you will take responsibility for the design, development, and delivery of scalable software solutions aligned with business objectives. This role requires guiding your team through requirement analysis, solution design, and implementation while ensuring high-quality standards and operational excellence. You will drive continuous improvement by anticipating risks, prioritizing features, and fostering innovation within the software development lifecycle. Collaborating closely with stakeholders, you will ensure alignment with strategic goals and promote a culture of technical excellence and accountability across projects.
What You'll Do -
Hire, coach and lead a high performing software engineering team.

Drive the delivery of POCs in a rapid test and learn environment.

Collaborate with Product and Business teams on roadmap development and prioritization.

Drive the technical vision and strategy for the engineering team.

Drive the entire software lifecycle, from inception to launch, to deliver high quality products on time, on budget.

Own your team’s operational excellence, develop and drive plans for quality and operational improvements.

Collaborate with multiple technology teams to ensure APIs and system interfaces are designed to meet the long-term program goals.

Create a collaborative team environment that fosters creativity, speed, innovation, and learning.
What You'll Bring -
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master's degree preferred).

Have an entrepreneurial mindset that focuses on putting the customer first

10+ years of hands-on software development experience

3+ years of Software Development Management experience

Hands-on experience designing and deploying scalable solutions in production environments.

Strong background in both front-end and back-end software engineering.

Skilled in conceptualizing and implementing agentic AI systems that translate complex intelligence into automated, scalable decision frameworks aligned with strategic outcomes.

Experience with agile frameworks and facilitating agile ceremonies.

Bellevue, Washington US-11663: The annual salary range for this position is $132,000.00 - $264,000.00
Bentonville, Arkansas US-10735: The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 2: 7 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
