Position Summary:

The Senior Manager, Social Media is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving the company's social media strategy and execution across various products and services. This senior role will oversee a team and collaborate with a Social Agency of Record (AOR) to develop innovative, data-driven campaigns that enhance brand relevance and engagement with Canadian audiences through local content storytelling. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the latest social media trends, technologies, and platforms, and will be adept at running the social media function as a business, delivering measurable results that align with brand objectives. The implications of this role are considerable, including the continued perception of Samsung as an ethical, successful, innovative company – a brand that matters to consumers and Canadians. Social often requires collaboration across various departments, including product, sales, and customer service. This Senior Manager facilitates this collaboration, ensuring that all teams work in harmony to deliver consistent messaging and customer experiences. Social media is a powerful tool for understanding customer needs and preferences. A Senior Manager ensures that Samsung Canada's social media strategies are customer-centric, driving meaningful interactions and building brand loyalty. Reporting to the Director, Corporate Brand, this role works closely with internal brand leads and stakeholders who manage their respective product or service.

Role and Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive social media strategies that align with brand and business goals.

  • Drive content strategy, ensuring all content is engaging, relevant, and aligned with Samsung's brand voice.

  • Collaborate with the AOR to plan, execute, and optimize social media campaigns across multiple platforms (ex. TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, X, Facebook, Snap, Reddit).

  • Ensure social content posted on Samsung Canada channels meets global guidelines to ensure brand consistency and best practices. Manage on-going updates with relevant agency partners.

  • Optimization of paid social media campaigns across multiple platforms, including media platform operations.

  • Periodically meet with social media platforms to explore new and developing products and opportunities.

  • Create and manage social landscape report to identify opportunities for Samsung to engage in relevant and timely events in Canada.

  • Ensure sentiment remains positive and community management is maintained to drive engagement and further strengthen the brand on social media.

  • Determine content and IMC-related KPIs and independently craft requirements for data reporting.

  • Lead a team to manage social media operations (reporting and posting) + community.

  • Periodically meet with social media platforms to explore new and developing products and opportunities.

  • Create and manage social landscape report to identify opportunities for Samsung to engage in relevant and timely events in Canada.

  • Manage and allocate budgets effectively to maximize ROI on social media initiatives.

  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including internal teams, partners, and influencers.

  • Collaborate with partners to create insightful and actionable quarterly reviews, monthly scorecards, weekly performance and relevant campaign reports.

Skills and Qualifications

Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of marketing experience, with at least 5 years with strategic & content experience.

  • Ability to run the function as a business, delivering measurable results with brand growth and engagement.

  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful social media strategies for global brands.

  • Experience in managing social media during high-profile product launches or campaigns is a plus.

  • Experience providing recommendations to different internal leads who own their respective campaigns.

  • Experience having ownership of organic social content driving the planning across multiple LOBs with varying priorities.

  • Paid Media experience - understand and have executed paid social campaigns across major (TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Snap, etc.) and other emerging social media platforms is a plus.

Knowledge:

  • Analytical, detail-oriented nature with experience reporting on insights and campaign results.

  • Experience using Sprinklr, Adobe or other related social media measurement platform.

  • Experience either building or adapting content to best maximize the performance and engagement of content through brand owned social platforms.

  • Experience managing complex and fast-moving issues while working with limited supervision.

  • Incredible attention to detail and ability to multi-task.

  • Very strong writing and communication skills.

  • Knowledge of social media analytics and reporting.

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work cross-divisionally and functionally and balance the interests of multiple stakeholders.

  • Passion for technology and consumer electronics.

The salary range for this role is expected to be between $107,000 to $147,000 and reflects base salary only. Actual pay will be determined based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, competencies, qualifications, relevant skills and experience.

 The total rewards package for a Regular Full-Time employee may include a variable incentive, savings matching (RRSP/TFSA/NRSP), extended health and dental benefits with spending accounts, wellness and well-being benefits, development opportunities, and other employee perks.
