A fantastic opportunity has presented itself for a Senior Manager, Security Architecture reporting to the Executive Manager – Infrastructure and Security Architecture.
A bit about your role
The Senior Manager - Security Architecture is accountable for developing the security solution architecture focusing on Network and IT security initiatives. The critical part of this role is mapping Enterprise-wide Security Strategy led by CSO to the end-to-end IT and Network Security Architecture Solutions.
This is a complex technical role that will involve working with multiple stakeholders across SEO and the rest of nbn to understand what we are trying to achieve with systems change and providing solution and architectural options that underpin that change. Key stakeholders include Technology Delivery Leads, DevSecOps Leads, Business Stakeholders, and Enterprise Architecture.
This is a people leader role, responsible for organising and inspiring individuals by creating a high performing culture in which we do great work.
A bit about you
We are seeking an accomplished architecture professional with experience in senior architecture or consulting roles, delivering complex technology strategies and services. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise across IT infrastructure, software and network security, secure engineering practices, data security and privacy, and security considerations for AI/ML systems. A strong understanding of industry frameworks such as NIST CSF 2.0, along with comprehensive knowledge of Australian Government security initiatives including the Security of Critical Infrastructure Act 2031 (SOCI Act), is essential.
This role requires advanced capability in Identity and Access Management, infrastructure and application security, Zero Trust architectures, and the protection of critical telecommunications networks. You will be skilled in communicating clearly with both technical teams and executive stakeholders, translating complex concepts to suit the audience. Success in the role also relies on strong planning and organisational skills, including developing multi‑year architecture roadmaps, managing investment cycles, coordinating team workloads, and overseeing local financial management.
