The opportunity

The Senior Manager, Risk Culture plays a pivotal role in shaping and strengthening how risk culture is embedded across the business—directly influencing behaviour, outcomes and trust.

Your new role
This is a senior advisory and delivery role, with accountability for shaping and embedding QBE’s approach to risk culture in a complex, regulated and matrixed environment. You’ll partner closely with leaders, risk and people teams to turn frameworks, insights and regulatory expectations into practical action that strengthens decision‑making and outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
Driving the strategic development and implementation of QBE’s risk culture framework and approach across the QBE Group.
Partnering with senior leaders to deliver actionable insights that enable measurable improvements in risk culture and behaviour.
Designing and delivering risk culture assessments, deep dives and reporting to inform leadership, executive and Board forums.
Influencing enterprise thinking and actions arising from risk culture insights, reviews and regulatory expectations (including CPS 220).
Working closely with Group and Divisional Risk, and People teams to shape globally aligned practices and ensure local application.
Building risk culture capability across the business through coaching, education and innovative engagement initiatives.
About you
You believe culture is a powerful enabler of strong risk management — and you know how to help organisations move from insight to action. You’re comfortable challenging and influencing at senior levels, navigating complexity, and working across both people‑ and risk‑led disciplines.
Experience working in risk culture, organisational culture, employee experience, HR strategy or enterprise risk roles, with a strong understanding of human behaviour.
Strong capability translating qualitative and quantitative insights into practical, business‑led actions.
Confidence influencing senior stakeholders in complex, regulated environments.
Sound understanding of risk culture, behavioural drivers and/or regulatory expectations (or a strong appetite to build this expertise).
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including governance and Board‑level reporting.
Ability to operate within ambiguity, manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes through collaboration.
