Purpose of Role
As a part of the Advisory, Consulting Solutions team in Knowledge Services function of MMC, the candidate will support our colleagues in the Pacific region, with sales enablement, and working on high-impact advisory engagements related to Climate & Sustainability (C&S) areas such as regulatory alignment & strategy development, climate and sustainability disclosure and reporting, GHG accounting, and net-zero and decarbonization strategy.

We will count on you to:
- Support leadership in setting the strategic direction and expanding the C&S capabilities, scale, and scope through proactive efforts, high-quality execution, and the development of relevant consulting outputs.
- Work on advisory services including sustainability/non-financial reporting, carbon accounting, transition risk assessment, decarbonization, climate scenario analysis, among others.
- Demonstrate knowledge in sustainability reporting frameworks, gap analysis, materiality assessments, and decarbonization strategies.
- Analyze and assess clients climate and sustainability performance, decarbonization strategies, adaptation and resilience plans; support organizations in addressing challenges; identify relevant data; and develop reporting frameworks and roadmaps.
- Support the development of sustainability strategies aligned with global and local such as IFRS SDS, UN SDGs, TCFD, SASB, ASRS (AASB S1 and AASB S2), NZ ZRB (NZ CS), among others.
- Support in measuring and reducing their carbon footprint (Scope 1, 2, and 3) in line with GHG Protocol and SBTi, and help develop net-zero and decarbonization roadmaps.
- Demonstrate knowledge in sustainability reporting frameworks, gap analysis, materiality assessments, and decarbonization strategies.
- Be familiar with physical and transition risk assessments, and support clients in resilience and adaptation planning.
- Drive and deliver high-impact C&S advisory engagements
- Incubate new research, data analytics, and benchmarking capabilities; enable innovation; lead organization-wide initiatives; and expand the range of proprietary knowledge assets.
- Develop compelling proposals that clearly articulate project scope, value proposition, and deliverables to win new business opportunities
- Build strong stakeholder relationships through high-quality project delivery, responsiveness, and clear communication.
- Enhance the visibility and impact of our C&S solutions by actively promoting our expertise through internal and external initiatives, leveraging existing knowledge, and developing innovative new offerings.
What you need to have:
- Masters or Bachelors in sustainability, environmental science/management, geography, engineering, finance, business administration, economics, or related field.
- 6 to 8 years of experience in strategy advisory, research (quantitative and qualitative) experience, gained at a leading Big-4, professional services, consulting firm, or boutique firm
- Very good knowledge of climate and sustainability frameworks: SDGs, GRI, TCFD, SASB, CDP, SBTi, ASRS (ASSB), NZ XRB (NZ CS)
- Proven track record in sustainability reporting, transition risk assessment, and decarbonization strategies.
- Practical experience in GHG/carbon footprint assessments, and in developing net-zero and decarbonization strategies and roadmaps.
- Familiarity with physical risk assessments, and resilience and adaptation planning.
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills; fluency in English is mandatory.
- Experience in consulting projects and able to execute high level / complex assignments
- Deep understanding of global marketplace, key trends, economic and geo-political developments, technological developments, global supply chain, and key business and financial risks
- Ability to craft compelling stories and visuals using multiple data points.
- Excellent analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills
- Strong awareness of regulatory developments in sustainability areas
- Programming skills (e.g., Python) are a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Willingness to work aligned with Pacific time zones
What makes you stand out?
- CFA/GARP/CFA ESG Investing / MS in sustainability and certification related to GHG Accounting and decarbonisation etc.
- Familiarity with core statistical concepts e.g., correlation, regressions, significant values, etc.
- Exposure, experience in risk consulting related research or advisory support in related verticals would be preferred
- Ability to take initiatives to strive for improvement in analytical techniques, processes and outputs
