Secondment/Contract: Duration up to 12 months
The Senior Manager, Quality Services Optimization is responsible for leading and managing Quality Services business process improvements and optimization initiatives across the LCBO network in a dynamic and evolving marketplace. This role will serve as the quality lead on the ERP development and implementation project team, overseeing the design and integration of quality systems across all business functions.
This leader will support the transformation of the Quality Management framework and the integration of Quality Assurance legacy systems into the new ERP platform. A key focus will be on defining and documenting quality workflows, data structures, and reporting mechanisms for product recalls, product non-compliance management, and corrective actions, ensuring all Quality Assurance processes meet applicable regulatory requirements and are ISO 9001-compliant.
The role requires strong cross-functional collaboration with Logistics, Merchandising, Wholesale Grocery, Retail, Marketing, and Finance to ensure that all quality assurance programs are seamlessly executed throughout the business transformation.
About the Role
Project Leadership
• Serve as the quality lead on the ERP implementation project team.
• Manage project timelines, deliverables, risk, testimg protocols and milestones throughout the ERP lifecycle.
• Ensure quality system design aligns with business needs and regulatory expectations.
• Provide leadership to the team through technical development, testing and delivery or new systems.
Process Integration & Optimization
• Lead the optimization of business processes and system capabilities to enable effective quality assurance operations across all channels.
• Map and transform existing quality processes for digital integration within the ERP.
• Ensure all process improvements are aligned with relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g., Health Canada, CFIA, FDA) and ISO 9001 standard requirements
• Collaborate with business units to ensure seamless integration of quality data and process workflow across procurement, logistics, distribution, and customer service.
• Address functional design challenges, manage project timelines, and mitigate risks related to ERP implementation and process transformation.
• Drive change management by identifying required process adjustments, securing functional and leadership alignment, and ensuring smooth adoption.
• Ensure timely execution of deliverables aligned with service level agreements (SLAs), key performance indicators (KPIs), and stakeholder expectations.
Risk & Compliance Management
• Design and implement robust controls for managing product recalls, deviations, and non-conformances.
• Establish real-time monitoring, escalation protocols, and audit trails for quality events.
• Ensure traceability and audit readiness of quality records within the ERP.
• Maintain a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and ensure all quality system enhancements support compliance.
• Lead and develop the enhance KPI reporting for the Quality Services team by leveraging business intelligence platforms such as Power BI
• Leverage ERP capabilities to enhance visibility, operational efficiency, and data-driven decision-making across quality and logistics functions.
• Drive system adoption through effective training, change management, and documentation of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
About You
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Supply Chain Management, or other related field
• Certificates in Project management
• 6+ years of experience in Quality Assurance or Supply Chain Operations. planning and system implementations
• Experience in SAP ERP implementation, with a focus on quality modules and system integration.
• Experience of regulatory compliance, recall management, and ISO 9001 standards.
• Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into system requirements and quality solutions.
• Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Excellent project management, analytical, and leadership skills.
• Strong ability to multitask and prioritize to produce quality results in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, especially in cross-functional and multi-site environments.
Preferred:
• Graduate degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• 8+ years of progressive experience in Quality Assurance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Proven experience in SAP ERP implementation and program delivery, with a focus on quality modules and system integration.
• Deep understanding of regulatory compliance, CAPA systems, recall management, and ISO 9001 standards.
• Experience in regulated industries such as food, beverage, healthcare, or consumer goods is an asset.
• Project management PMP or other certification.
