Senior Manager, Product Development – Personal Lending

The Senior Manager, Product Development – Personal Lending plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of personal lending at BMO. Accountable for the end‑to‑end product development and capabilities roadmap, this role drives the design and delivery of market‑leading customer experiences, scalable product capabilities, and sustainable customer growth.

Operating with significant autonomy, the role translates strategy into execution, balancing customer needs, risk considerations, and financial outcomes. The Senior Manager is a key thought partner to other leaders in the team and is expected to demonstrate the depth, judgment, and enterprise mindset to drive results.

Key Accountabilities

Product & Capability Leadership

  • Own and continuously evolve the multi‑year product development and capabilities roadmap for Personal Lending products aligned to strategic priorities.  This scope includes lines of credit, term loans, and various specialized lending programs.
  • Set clear product direction and standards, ensuring initiatives are outcome‑driven, scalable, and future‑ready.
  • Identify, size, and prioritize high‑impact capability opportunities across acquisition, onboarding, pricing, servicing, and lifecycle engagement.

Customer Experience & Growth Enablement

  • Champion a customer experience‑led approach to product development within Personal lending, with a focus on driving sustainable growth of our lending portfolio
  • Ensure product journeys are consistent, intuitive, and compliant across digital and assisted channels, while also identifying potential market growth opportunities
  • Alignment of priorities and opportunities across the broader Day to Day banking product and P&BB team

Governance and Performance Measurement

  • Establish clear success measures and track performance across customer experience, adoption, growth, and financial contribution.
  • Ensure strong governance, risk alignment, and regulatory compliance across all product and capability changes.

  • Clear, credible, and well‑executed personal lending product and capabilities roadmap
  • Demonstrated improvement in customer experience, digital adoption, and engagement
  • Measurable contribution to personal lending growth and portfolio performance within risk appetite
  • Strong cross‑functional alignment and on‑time delivery of strategic initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in financial services, personal lending or banking strategy
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience influencing internal partners
  • Proven ability to analyze financial data and drive profitability, and identify growth opportunities within risk appetite
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Salary:

$86,000.00 - $160,000.00

Salaried

The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
