Job Title: Senior Manager - Probity HR Operations
Location: Bengaluru, Manyata Tech Park
Your Role & Impact: The Senior Manager – Probity HR Operations is accountable for leading end‑to‑end Background Verification (BGV) and Probity Operations for CBA India, while also owning the performance, service delivery, and capability uplift of a high‑impact HR operations function.
This role is a critical control point for organizational risk, employee integrity, and customer (employee & leader) experience. The incumbent will lead a multi‑layered team, act as a senior escalation point for complex people matters, and partner closely with Senior Leaders, HR Business Partners, Risk, Legal, and Talent teams to deliver high‑quality advice, operational excellence, and compliant outcomes at scale.
Your reporting lines: The role position reports into the Executive Manager – Human Resource Business Partnering.
Your skills and experience:
15+ years of experience across Background Verification, HR Operations, HR Shared Services, Risk, or Compliance.
Strong experience operating in a regulated environment (Banking, Financial Services, GCC, or large MNC).
Proven track record in people leadership, service delivery management, and senior‑stakeholder engagement.
Demonstrated capability in handling sensitive conduct, wellbeing, and complex people matters.
Strong analytical capability with experience using data to drive service and process improvements.
Excellent communication, judgement, and decision‑making skills.
High levels of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality.
Key responsibilities:
Background Verification & HR Operations
Lead and govern end‑to‑end Background Verification across all hiring types (permanent, contract, leadership, internal mobility, succession).
Review, assess, and adjudicate BGV outcomes, including criminal, employment, education, identity, and regulatory checks.
Engage with candidates and employers to resolve discrepancies, insufficiencies, and adverse findings in line with Group policies.
Make final recommendations on BGV outcomes, balancing risk, fairness, and business needs.
Identify emerging risk trends, systemic issues, and control gaps; escalate material risks with clear recommendations.
Ensure strict compliance with Group policies, regulatory obligations, and data privacy requirements.
HR Operations & HR Direct Service Delivery
Act as a point of reference and accountability for HR Direct, responding to and overseeing resolution of complex customer (employee and leader) enquiries.
Enable a high‑quality customer experience by ensuring accurate advice, consistent outcomes, and operational excellence.
Design, manage, and champion service delivery expectations within the team and with internal customers.
Be accountable for the overall performance of the team and HR Direct offering, including (but not limited to):
Average Handling Time (AHT)
Shrinkage
First Point Resolution (FPR)
Average Wait Time
Grade of Service (GOS)
Analyse service and operational data to identify opportunities for efficiency, effectiveness, and continuous improvement.
Drive process improvements, system enhancements, and simplification across HR operations and probity workflows.
People Leadership, Coaching & Capability Uplift
Lead, motivate, and develop the team through high‑quality coaching, feedback, and performance management.
Coach Senior Consultants to enable them to confidently support and advise Senior Leaders on complex people matters, including:
Organisational restructures
Talent mobility and succession
Change management
Large‑scale capability building initiatives
Foster a strong culture of accountability, risk awareness, ethical conduct, and customer centricity.
Manage centre recruitment and onboarding to maintain optimal staffing levels and capability mix.
Risk Management & Incident Governance
Mitigate risk to the Group by proactively managing real and potential incidents across BGV, HR operations, and conduct matters.
Ensure lessons learned from incidents are embedded into training, coaching frameworks, SOPs, and controls.
Maintain strong governance, audit readiness, and documentation across all probity and HR operations activities.
Reporting, Analytics & Insights
Own and deliver dashboards, MIS, and analytics covering BGV, HR operations performance, service metrics, and risk indicators.
Provide data‑driven insights and recommendations to HR and business leadership.
Education qualification: Bachelor’s Degree: A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Law, Commerce, or related fields is required.
