Job Description
The Senior Manager – Portfolio Investment Strategist is responsible for assisting financial advisors with the design and implementation of sophisticated investment strategies for high-net-worth clients with $10M+ in investable assets. Working in close partnership with senior investment strategists and planning specialists, this role focuses on moderate-complexity client cases while supporting more high-complexity engagements as needed. The position is highly visible, research- and sales-driven, and plays a critical role in delivering an exceptional advisor and client experience by leveraging investment capabilities across the enterprise.Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with senior investment strategists, planning strategists, paraplanners, analysts, and case managers to assess advisor and client needs and develop integrated investment strategies for high net-worth clients.
Prepare high-quality investment materials and participate in advisor and client meetings, supporting both moderate- and high-complexity client cases.
Partner with cross-organizational teams and affiliates – including wealth management sales teams, insurance, banking & cash solutions, and trust partners – to deliver coordinated solutions aligned to client objectives.
Contribute subject matter expertise to initiatives and projects supporting the high-net-worth client segment and Advanced Wealth Planning & Consulting (AWPC) business.
Support marketing and business development efforts to strengthen advisor engagement and build the AWPC sales pipeline.
Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience required.
Experience
5–7+ years of financial services experience, including direct experience supporting financial advisors and working with high-net-worth clients.
Demonstrated experience assessing client needs, developing investment strategies, and delivering actionable recommendations.
Licenses & Registrations
Active or ability to obtain required FINRA registrations, including Series 7 and Series 63/66; Series 24 where applicable based on role responsibilities.
Technical & Professional Skills
Working knowledge of advanced investment strategies and wealth management solutions, including capital markets, managed accounts, and alternative investments.
Moderate understanding of comprehensive financial planning concepts, including estate/legacy, retirement, business, and tax planning strategies.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex concepts clearly to advisors and clients.
Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word; ability to manage and prioritize multiple client cases simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field.
Professional designations such as CFA, CFP®, or CIMA®.
Experience with industry and planning tools such as MoneyGuide/Wealth Studios, Thomson One, and Morningstar Direct.
Prior experience supporting advanced wealth planning initiatives or consulting-based investment strategy roles within a high-net-worth client segment.
Base Pay Salary
The estimated base salary for this role is $114,500 - $157,400 / year. We have a pay-for- performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role.
