What is the opportunity?
This is a unique opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the Value Office & PMO. As a key leader, you will drive the Quality Assurance and execution of Data, Risk, and Reporting functions across the Value Office, including the Primary Project Management Office (PPMO) for Personal Banking.

  • Be a Strategic Leader:  You will lead the development and execution of the data and reporting strategy, ensuring alignment with Value Office goals, while streamlining processes and fostering a lean, agile approach.

  • Own Quality Assurance Excellence: Overseeing all aspects of Quality Assurance, you will collaborate with the Portfolio team and Delivery partners to address data issues and implement execution assurance activities.

  • Drive Key Initiatives: Partnering with diverse stakeholders, you will develop, implement, and support critical initiatives that shape the organization's future, directly impacting the success of the PMO and Portfolio Management team.

  • Lead Project Risk Governance: ensuring adherence to Enterprise Project policy and standards, while driving improvements in project delivery within the Personal Banking portfolio.

What will you do?

  • Develop and execute RBC's Project Risk Governance program, including risk identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting across the portfolio, ensuring alignment with Enterprise Project Policy and Standards.

  • Partner with Portfolio teams and Delivery partners to address data issues, implement execution assurance activities, and support key initiatives.

  • Lead project monitoring to evaluate risk controls (Delivery, Future State, Investment Risk attributes) and identify "at-risk" projects requiring Project Sponsor/Executive attention and remediation. Escalate "at-risk" projects via PV SaaS/KRI metrics, conduct independent health checks, and develop course-correction action plans.

  • Act as liaison with RBC Enterprise CoE/CoGs and Business Units to integrate/educate stakeholders on governance policies, standards, and best practices.

  • Collaborate on Planview SaaS enhancements for RBC reporting, including benefits tracking, financial/status reporting, and Enterprise Initiative Management Framework alignment.

  • Oversee Initiative Delivery Hub design, engagement, and related learning materials.

  • Lead the Quarterly Sub-PMO Forum (SPMO) comprised of the Digital, Caribbean and RBC Bank SPMO’s, conduct progress assessments against business objectives, foster cross-functional collaboration, and drive alignment and governance.

  • Influence senior executives through effective communication and negotiation, building rapport with key groups (Portfolio Management, PRG, SPMOs, RBC PMOs, PB PMO Community), and continuously enhancing organizational knowledge and skills.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-Have:

  • Over 5 years’ experience as a Project Manager/Scrum Master/Product Owner, with expertise in project management frameworks.

  • Ability to thrive in dynamic environments with strong organizational skills and a results-based approach.

  • Proficient in tools like Planview, LeanKit, Confluence, Jira, Webex Teams, MURAL, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

  • Strong knowledge of project risk policy, standards, and governance requirements and exceptional writing, editing, and presentation skills.

  • Self-starter with the ability to connect disparate processes, systems, and solutions to drive change.

  • Strategic mindset with a focus on leveraging data and insights to deliver results and build stakeholder relationships.

Nice to Have:

  • PMP certification or prior PMO experience, with a post-secondary degree in data management, business, or a related field.

  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills, including experience in building and maintaining reporting dashboards and proficiency in visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Smartsheet

  • Knowledge of Agile values, principles, and frameworks.

  • Ability to design polished slide decks and leadership updates tailored for senior audiences.
