Reporting to the Director of Marketing Strategy, Programs and Analytics, you’ll lead Neo4j’s PLG Marketing analytics strategy, turning data into insights and frameworks that accelerate user acquisition, activation, and monetization. This role is crucial for accelerating our self-serve Go-to-Market (GTM) motion; you will build analytical models and reporting frameworks that inform PLG marketing decisions, from channel optimization to in-product engagement. You’ll partner closely with Product, Digital, and Product Analytics teams to define KPIs and translate insights into scalable programs that drive activation and revenue. As a founding member of our PLG Marketing team, you’ll shape how we use data to grow Neo4j’s self-serve business from the ground up – all with the north star goal of helping users discover and realize more value from Neo4j Aura.

Key Responsibilities:

 

Reporting and Performance Analysis:

  • Design, build, and maintain reporting frameworks that track PLG funnel performance from awareness and sign-up through activation, conversion, and expansion.
  • Deliver actionable insights and dashboards to Marketing and Product leaders to optimize user acquisition and engagement.
  • Monitor performance trends, diagnose drivers behind KPIs, and provide regular readouts to executive stakeholders.

Growth and Funnel Optimization:

  • Analyze web, search, and digital marketing data to grow user acquisition and demand generation
  • Analyze user behavior and lifecycle data to identify friction points, growth levers, and opportunities to improve conversion and retention.
  • Collaborate with Product and Marketing teams to design experiments and measure the impact of self-serve growth initiatives.
  • Translate findings into recommendations for messaging, channel mix, and in-product engagement.

Strategic Planning and Decision Support:

  • Provide analytical input for quarterly and annual GTM planning, including forecasting, pipeline modeling, and budget allocation.
  • Develop frameworks to evaluate marketing program performance and ROI, informing resource prioritization and experimentation strategy.
  • Support executive decision-making with data-driven narratives that link marketing activity to revenue impact.

Marketing Data Strategy and Infrastructure:

  • Define the data requirements, taxonomy, and instrumentation needed to measure PLG marketing impact effectively.
  • Partner with Product Analytics to ensure data integrity, consistency, and accessibility across systems.
  • Lead improvements to the PLG marketing analytics tech stack, from attribution models to BI tooling.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Leadership:

  • Act as the connective tissue between Marketing and Product teams to align KPIs and success metrics across the self-serve funnel.
  • Mentor and influence stakeholders to build a data-driven culture within PLG Marketing.
  • Represent marketing analytics in strategic discussions about product roadmap, go-to-market planning, and customer lifecycle initiatives.

Experimentation and Insight Generation:

  • Build frameworks to quantify the incremental impact of PLG marketing tactics across acquisition channels and product surfaces.
  • Share insights and best practices across teams to inform future experimentation strategy.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field. An advanced degree (MBA, MSc) is a plus.
  • 6+ years of experience in analytics, strategy, consulting, or marketing, with a minimum of 3 years in an analytics-focused role.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.
  • Proven track record in defining, outlining, and delivering analytical projects with high complexity.
  • Strong knowledge of analytics tools and marketing data platforms (e.g., Google Analytics)
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities.

The annual base salary range for this position based in the United States is listed below. This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on Neo4j’s compensation practices, job related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and trainings, in addition to geographic location. Based on the factors above, Neo4j utilizes the full width of the range.

In addition to the range below, US employees are eligible for a stock option grant and certain roles are eligible for an annual bonus. Employees in this position are also eligible to participate in the Company’s standard benefit programs, which currently include the following: medical, dental, and vision benefits, 401(k), paid time off, and certain leaves of absence.
