About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Business Execution Senior Manager to lead strategic execution, governance, and stakeholder engagement efforts across the SWIFT organization, while also supporting cross‑functional initiatives within WISE. This leader will oversee a small team of mid-senior level Business Execution Consultants and serve as a critical driver of transformation, operational rigor, and strategic alignment within our global payments ecosystem. This role demands a hands‑on, execution‑focused leader who brings deep industry expertise in the payments space, excels in environments of ambiguity and change, and can rapidly build organizational understanding to drive impact from day one.
In this role you will:
Leadership & Team Management
Lead, coach, and develop a team of Business Execution Consultants supporting SWIFT initiatives, ensuring strong execution discipline, operational rigor, and effective delivery across high‑visibility workstreams.
Promote a culture of accountability, inclusion, continuous improvement, and talent development aligned to Wells Fargo values.
Governance & Strategic Execution
Run governance routines and operating cadences across SWIFT and cross‑functional WISE stakeholder groups, ensuring decisions, risks, and dependencies are understood and managed.
Oversee planning, business integration, issue resolution, and execution of initiatives with moderate to high complexity, impact, and risk.
Define program frameworks, ensure alignment to enterprise standards, and escalate challenges appropriately.
Stakeholder Engagement & Influence
Build strong relationships with senior leaders across Payments, WISE, Operations, Technology, and cross‑enterprise partners.
Influence outcomes in matrixed environments; secure resources, align priorities, and resolve conflicts across stakeholder groups.
Rapidly understand organizational structures, decision pathways, and cultural dynamics to effectively drive execution.
Payments Transformation & Problem Solving
Apply industry knowledge of global payments, SWIFT standards, and evolving regulatory and technology landscapes to guide prioritization and decision‑making.
Lead through ambiguity by proactively identifying issues, defining solutions, and driving clarity in changing environments.
Develop a strategic priority roadmap that identifies key risks, opportunities, and recommended areas of focus for senior leadership.
Operational Risk & Continuous Improvement
Identify risks associated with change execution; build and implement mitigation plans.
Recommend improvements to execution processes, governance models, and cross‑functional routines to strengthen alignment and delivery quality.
Required Qualifications:
6+ years in Business Execution, Implementation, Strategic Planning, or related experience (including through work experience, military, or education)
3+ years of management or leadership experience
Desired Qualifications:
Deep industry experience in payments, including SWIFT, global payments processing, money movement products, or large‑scale payments transformation
Experience from a large financial institution or at a top-tier consulting firm or in a consulting-style leadership role managing large-scale transformation, complex programs, or high-impact product portfolios
Proven ability to lead in high-ambiguity environments, roll up sleeves, problem‑solve, and drive execution in a dynamic and evolving landscape
Demonstrated success managing stakeholder relationships across large, matrixed, geographically dispersed organizations
Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills; ability to convert insights into clear strategies and actionable plans
Experience supporting enterprise or cross-organizational strategic initiatives, change management, or transformation within a large financial institution
Familiarity with ISO 20022, SWIFT standards, and Global Payments Innovation (gpi)
