As Senior Manager, Operations, you will be at the forefront of change, using your leadership skills to drive a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. You will empower your leadership team, foster employee engagement, and ensure safety, quality, and financial targets are achieved while delivering on McKesson’s customer first commitment.

This role plans, directs, and coordinates distribution center operations across afternoon, evening, and night shifts. You will ensure goods are efficiently received, verified, stored, processed, and delivered to customers in compliance with GMP and SOP standards. Success in this role means maximizing workflow, minimizing errors, maintaining strong employee relations, and ensuring health and safety standards are consistently met.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)

  • Lead distribution center operations across multiple shifts, ensuring timely and accurate receipt, storage, and delivery of products.

  • Analyze operating procedures, systems, and schedules to identify efficiency improvements and cost savings.

  • Define and assign responsibilities to supervisors and employees to maximize productivity and accountability.

  • Conduct performance reviews for Operations Supervisors, supporting development plans and actively coaching areas of opportunity.

  • Ensure policies and practices related to employee and labor relations are respected; promote strong employee engagement.

  • Monitor and improve customer service levels, ensuring McKesson’s Customer First commitment is consistently met.

  • Partner with HR on labor relations, including bargaining, union-management committees, and grievance hearings; participate in collective agreement negotiations as applicable.

  • Champion Six Sigma and lean initiatives by identifying cost reduction and quality improvement opportunities.

  • Oversee automation equipment and processes in coordination with facility maintenance and third-party vendors.

  • Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and GMP policies through regular review, updates, and audits.

  • Drive health and safety practices through ongoing monitoring, audits, and training; ensure leaders are competent in H&S responsibilities.

  • Partner with Regional HR to complete workforce planning requirements and provide leadership development and training opportunities.

Basic Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in distribution, warehousing, or manufacturing environments; or equivalent combination of experience.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a complex leadership capacity.

Critical Skills/Experience (Must Haves)

  • Proven leadership experience in large-scale operations with a track record of driving performance and engagement.

  • Strong background in labor relations and employee relations.

  • Demonstrated success with Six Sigma, lean principles, and process improvement initiatives.

  • Ability to establish and analyze business metrics to set performance targets and standards.

  • Strong organizational and tactical planning skills with a sense of urgency and initiative.

  • Change management, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.

  • Excellent communication and analytical skills; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Skills/Experience (Nice to Haves)

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Experience with automation systems and processes.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in both office and warehouse environments.

  • Flexibility to work varied schedules across a 24-hour operation.

  • Minimal travel required.

  • Ability to stand, walk, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$103,400 - $172,300
