Senior Manager, Master Control

As Master Control Hub Manager, you'll be responsible for the overall vision, mission, and service delivery of our master control operation while leading a team of skilled operators. WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Responsible for master control operations including program monitoring and logs, signal monitoring, quality assurance checks and discrepancy reporting.
  • Foster an environment that ensures all of our internal customers have a consistent experience.
  • Motivate and manage a staff of professional, master control operators.
  • Forecasting and monitor of capital, expense, repair and maintenance budgets in conjunction with the hub assistant manager and related departments.
  • Oversee the evaluation of equipment prior to purchase.
  • Oversee the implementation of a WAN outage, or other technical trouble recovery procedure for each station. Once created, schedule, track, and execute the recovery procedure.
  • Communicate professionally with individuals within and outside of the master control hub: communicate on a frequent basis with all other departments.
  • Maintain good personnel labor relations. Identify training needs, motivate and develop staff to meet the on-going and future needs of the master control hub.
  • Communicate with top level management.
  • Perform management and supervisory duties associated with master control team including staffing, onboarding, training, expectation setting, work assignments, scheduling, performance management, coaching and development, enforcing policies and monitoring work flow.
  • Train and prepare the master control hub assistant manager to perform some essential duties when the hub manager is not available.
  • Works with the hub assistant manager to quickly investigate, resolve and report results to all parties concerned for escalated on-air issues.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • BS/BA in related discipline or equivalent years of experience preferred
  • Generally, 7+ years of experience in related field preferred
  • Prior managerial experience preferred

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Understand a centralized, remotely controlled (HUB) environment is required
  • Expert knowledge of all functions and responsibilities of television master control
  • Understand transmitter parameters and FCC requirements
  • Working knowledge of the departments within a television station
  • Sound judgment, with business implications in mind
  • Must be able to perform under exact deadlines
