The Target Pay Range for this position is $113,000 - $126,000 annually. At Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and budget

Job Purpose/Overview

The Senior Manager of Manufacturing Operations is responsible for driving and supporting veterinary diagnostic product supply and strategic priorities of the veterinary diagnostics business unit.  This position provides oversight of daily production and warehouse operations including production planning and scheduling, manufacturing, inventory management, shipping, facility management, and equipment qualification in a regulated environment. The Senior Manager of Manufacturing Operations manages the production team responsible for the execution of these activities and reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business needs related to these functional areas. In addition, this position leads and provides support for business initiatives such as new product introductions, capital projects, and production scale-up. This position serves a pivotal role as the primary liaison with internal and external stakeholders for the management of the manufacturing and warehouse operations.

  • Responsible for overall operational execution including, but not limited to, planning, scheduling, manufacturing, warehouse, and facility operations with a focus on quality, availability, inventory controls/system and manufacturing costs.
  • Lead and drive the successful execution of Operational, Manufacturing and Quality initiatives in conjunction with strategic business plans.
  • Provide regular project status information to team members, including preparing project plans, scheduling and attending required meetings, and following up on action items.
  • Develop and implement effective and strategic business solutions through research and analysis of data and business processes.
  • Develop or assist in the development of work plans and task sequencing.
  • Develop or assist in the development of training materials and training records for staff
  • Serve as a resource for internal team members for expedited problem identification and resolution, provision of project-specific updates, and team interactions and deadlines.
  • Maintain all relevant documentation and communications to support goals.
  • Manage resources and prioritize responsibilities as aligned with business needs to include running the business activities, project support, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Creation of processes for operational efficiencies including planning and MRP control systems.
  • Core team member in product development, facilitating communications between various stakeholders including but not limited to providing feedback for raw material procurement, product costings, quality system and regulatory requirements.
  • Involvement with product costing and site budgeting.

Education and Experience

  • MS degree in Biological Science or Biochemistry/Immunology
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Project Management experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must have good understanding of diagnostic product manufacturing and operations
  • Experience with quality systems for diagnostic products (or other related, regulated manufacturing operations).
  • Experience interacting with regulatory agencies including audits, import/export, post-market surveillance, permitting, etc.
  • Understanding basic immunoassay development is desirable.
  • Experience in product licensure with USDA-CVB for veterinary diagnostics is desirable.
  • Ability to think strategically to align and identify needs with incoming portfolio opportunities.
  • Flexibility to be able to work in a cross-functional, multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for timely documentation, presentation, and discussion of scientific results in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary team-based environment.
  • Strong commitment to product quality and continuous improvement.

Travel

Working Conditions

This role involves a combination of office-based and manufacturing environment responsibilities. In the office, work is generally performed in a professional setting with standard business equipment (computers, phones, printers). Noise levels are typically low to moderate.

In the manufacturing environment, the associate may be exposed to higher noise levels, moving mechanical parts, and occasional fluctuations in temperature. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be worn as required. Associates should be comfortable walking, standing, or moving around the production floor for extended periods when needed.

Flexibility is required to shift between office and manufacturing settings, collaborating across teams in both environments.
