Key Accountabilities:
- Manage and coordinate machining activities and schedules within production and manufacturing and support industrial engineering, procurement, maintenance, and quality control to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment
- Manage and oversee installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery
- Manage new part and engineering change releases that are to be machined at the MTU Aiken Plant
- Confer with management personnel to establish production and quality control standards, develop budget and costs controls, and to obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications and delivery dates
- Coordinate activities with Machining in RRPS Friedrichshafen and initiate and sustain a network with counterparts at the parent company
- Review and analyze machining production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications, and operating or production problems
- Consult with manufacturing, industrial and quality engineering personnel relative to modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality products
- Keep management abreast of progress, developments pending problems
- Recruit employees, train, assign, direct, and evaluate their work, provide training and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence, discharge staff, and resolve personnel grievances
- Review processing schedules and production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, and duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints
- Set and monitor product standards, examining samples of raw products or directing testing during processing, to ensure finished products are of prescribed quality
- Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems, analysing production, quality control, maintenance, and other operational reports, to detect production problems
- Interpret company policies to workers and enforces safety and environmental regulations
- Institute continuous improvement initiatives, good housekeeping practices, employee suggestion and involvement programs in conjunction with the LEAN approach using TPM, KATA, A3, 8D and other solution finding tools
- Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility, and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls Royce Code of Conduct and the High-Performance Culture (HPC)
- Daily work is performed in an office and general manufacturing environment.
- Must be available to work all shifts and/or flexible hours.
- This position has a work schedule that requires four (4) ten (10) hour days during a Monday through Thursday work schedule, as business requires. This work schedule is subject to change to a 5-day (8) hour shift in the near future as business requires.
- Perform special projects as required
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial and/or Manufacturing Engineering and 5 years of experience as an engineer or supervisor in an industrial manufacturing or machining environment; or 9 years of experience as an engineer or supervisor in an industrial/manufacturing or machining environment.
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally

Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent knowledge of raw materials, production processes, manufacturing equipment, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods
- Excellent knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, project management, process flow analysis, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
- Proven leadership and management skills
- Excellent ability to drive and lead organizational improvements
- Strong organizational, planning and follow-up skills
- Strong oral, written and presentation communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability when issues are very complex
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate others
- Must be available to work all shifts and/or flexible hours
- Proficient with PC, controlled systems and MS Office Suite
- Knowledge of MTU products, components, policies and procedures
- Knowledge of heavy-duty diesel engine assembly
- Knowledge of Workday, SAP and ADP
- Knowledge of Computer, Copier, Phone, Cell Phone and Fax
