Job Summary 

The Senior Data Product Manager for the International Division is a strategic leader responsible for shaping the future of data at Papa John's across 50 international markets. This role is critical to enhancing profit, mitigating risk, and improving operational efficiency by establishing the data foundations that will unlock business value and pave the way for our AI and machine learning initiatives. 

You will be a champion for data-driven innovation, skilled at translating complex business problems into scalable data solutions. The ideal candidate is an outstanding communicator, adept at influencing stakeholders who are not data-native and capable of building valuable relationships with colleagues, vendors, and franchisees. Personally, you are inventive, resilient, and biased to action—a plain-speaking and brave leader with a delivery mindset.

You will be instrumental in fostering a culture of data literacy and ensuring all initiatives adhere to rigorous governance and security standards, helping us "join the dots" across multiple global initiatives. 

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities  

As the Senior Data Product Manager, you will own the end-to-end life-cycle of data products across several key business domains to drive international growth. Your primary areas of focus will include: 

  • Digital & eCommerce Performance: Products that measure and optimize the entire online customer journey. 

  • Marketing & Customer Intelligence: Solutions for customer segmentation, loyalty, and measuring marketing effectiveness. 

  • Store & Operational Efficiency: Data products that help our franchise partners improve restaurant performance and profitability. 

  • Business Intelligence & Self-Service Analytics: Building the core dashboards and tools that provide actionable insights to business users. 

  • Foundational Data Platforms & AI Readiness: Developing the scalable data infrastructure required to power all analytics and future AI initiatives. 

Your responsibilities will span the full product lifecycle across these domains: 

 

Data Product Strategy & Vision: 

  • Formulate and manage the Data strategy and roadmap for the International division, with a clear focus on commercial value and operational excellence. 

  • Identify high-impact opportunities for data products to solve business challenges and create a competitive advantage across our 50 markets. 

  • Develop the foundational strategy for introducing AI and advanced analytics, ensuring scalability and alignment with business goals. 

 

Product Discovery and Lifecycle Management: 

  • Lead product discovery by collaborating with franchisees and business stakeholders to understand their needs and pain points. 

  • Translate business needs into clear requirements, product specifications, and user stories for both internal and vendor development teams. 

  • Manage the end-to-end product lifecycle from ideation and prioritization to delivery and iteration, ensuring products meet their intended business objectives on time and within budget. 

 

Data Governance, Security, and Compliance: 

  • Act as the product owner for data governance, ensuring all data products adhere to GDPR, CCPA, and other regional data privacy regulations. 

  • Implement and champion processes for data quality, security, and ethical use in partnership with legal and security teams. 

  • Champion best practices in data management and governance across the international technology landscape. 

 

Stakeholder Management and Data Evangelism: 

  • Build strong relationships and serve as the primary data liaison for a wide range of stakeholders, from franchisees to senior management. 

  • Present roadmaps, results, and strategies to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment across the organization. 

  • Educate and empower teams to leverage data effectively, translating technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-data-native audiences. 

 

Technology and Vendor Collaboration: 

  • Partner with the central US data team and local market vendors to guide the technical development of data solutions, including those leveragingGoogle BigQuery, Tableau, and Google Analytics. 

  • Provide product-led context to navigate a hybrid technology environment, ensuring solutions meet international requirements. 

  • Evaluate and manage relationships with third-party data technology providers, ensuring they align with our strategic goals.
