Senior Manager - HR Business Partnering

JOB SUMMARY

The HR Business Partner for the Kanpur Unit will be responsible for driving end-to-end HR operations and business partnering for the unit. The role involves maintaining cordial industrial relations, ensuring labour law compliance, and implementing HR strategies aligned with business objectives. The incumbent will support recruitment, performance management, talent development, employee engagement, rewards and recognition, and overall workforce effectiveness while fostering a positive and compliant work environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as the primary HR partner for the Kanpur Unit and a strategic advisor to the Unit Head and plant leadership team.
  • Drive HR initiatives aligned with business objectives to enhance productivity, engagement, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Maintain harmonious employee relations across permanent blue-collar and staff workforce to ensure operational stability and high productivity.
  • Manage shopfloor discipline, grievance handling, counselling, and conflict resolution in a proactive and structured manner.
  • Drive structured employee engagement initiatives for blue-collar workforce to enhance morale, retention, and culture.
  • Ensure full compliance with UP labour laws, statutory regulations, and company policies applicable to manufacturing operations.
  • Oversee statutory documentation, audits, inspections, contractor compliance (if applicable), and adherence to all labour compliance frameworks.
  • Monitor attendance, leave management, overtime practices, and statutory registers for workmen.
  • Drive the performance management cycle including goal setting, performance reviews, talent reviews, and Individual Development Plans (IDPs) for staff employees.
  • Identify skill gaps within shopfloor workforce and coordinate training and capability-building programs.
  • Partner with the recruitment team on manpower planning, budgeting, and timely hiring of workmen and staff roles.
  • Participate in interviews and selection processes for key unit positions.
  • Support compensation processes including wage revisions, increment cycles, promotions, and rewards & recognition initiatives.
  • Ensure effective implementation and communication of HR policies at the unit level.
  • Coordinate closely with Corporate HR and cross-functional stakeholders for seamless HR process execution.

PROFILE DETAILS

QUALIFICATION:

Essential/Must-have:  

  • MBA/MSW (HR) from premier institute

EXPERIENCE :

  • FMCG / Manufacturing/ IT or ITes Industries

Essential/Must-have:

  • 8–12 years of experience in HR, preferably in FMCG, manufacturing, or plant operations environment.
  • Strong exposure to industrial relations and labour law compliance.
  • Prior experience in a factory or unit HRBP role is essential.
  • Familiarity with Rajasthan labour regulations and local ecosystem will be preferred.

Desirable/Good to have: Prior experience in:

  • HR Analytics
  • HR process communication
  • HR – ERP modules
  • Designing and developing training modules
