Senior Manager, Hotels, Meetings & Events

The Olympic and Paralympic Family Group typically includes IOC Members, IOC administration, IPC Governing Board members, IF and NOC/NPC Presidents and Secretary Generals, key executives of commercial partners and media rights holders, IOC/IPC guests, Presidents of several recognized organizations, key executives of candidate cities and future hosts of the Games.  It is also closely connected with local and international & domestic dignitaries, and close collaboration is therefore necessary with the Protocol function of the OCOG in this respect.  

The Games Family Services (GFS) team represents the Olympic and Paralympic Family stakeholder within the OCOG and vis-à-vis the IOC/IPC and other external stakeholders. GFS is therefore responsible for defining, validating and coordinating service levels with other relevant Functional Areas (FA) and stakeholders’ representatives within the OCOG and external stakeholders.  

The GFS team is also responsible for the operational planning and management of the Olympic / Paralympic Family areas in competition and certain non-competition venues (Olympic / Paralympic Family Hotels, Ceremonies venues and official ports of entry).  

The Senior Manager, Olympic/Paralympic Family Hotels (OFH/PFH) will lead the planning and execution of accommodation for the International Olympic Committee (IOC), International Paralympic Committee (IPC), during the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games, as well as supporting the operational integration of the IOC/IPC official institutional events. This role requires exceptional cross-functional collaboration, strategic planning, and operational leadership to ensure a world-class experience for the Olympic and Paralympic Family.   

Key Responsibilities:

Hotel Program Leadership: 

  • Develop and manage the holistic venue operational planning for the hotel program with the IOC, IPC, and related stakeholders
  • Support contracts and oversee relationships with hotel partners to ensure service excellence and compliance with LA28 standards
  • Support and guide the hotels to adapt to an Olympic/Paralympic environment through training and developing policies and procedures

Cross-Functional Collaboration: 

  • Work closely with functional areas (FA) including Accommodation, Transportation, Accreditation, Security, Logistics to deliver integrated solutions for the OFH/PFH
  • Serve as the primary liaison between LA28 and IOC/IPC for all Olympic/Paralympic Family Hotel-related matters 

Meetings & Events Support: 

  • Lead planning and coordination for IOC/IPC Games-time institutional meetings, conferences, and hospitality events throughout the Games lifecycle
  • Overview of the delivery and operational readiness of the IPC function and office spaces, including liaising with respective FAs for FFE and technology provision
  • Ensure seamless coordination of venues, transport, security, and technical requirements for all events including supporting the IOC with their off-site hospitality house planning
  • Liaise with IOC/IPC contractors where required

Venue Management: 

  • Act as Venue Manager for designated Olympic/Paralympic Family hotels, ensuring readiness, operational efficiency, and compliance with Games standards
  • Oversee venue staffing plans, operational timelines, and contingency planning

Budget & Reporting: 

  • Manage budgets for hotel and event operations, ensuring cost control and financial accountability
  • Provide regular progress reports and risk assessments to leadership

Background & Requirements:

  • Past multisport Games experience is a plus 
  • Minimum of 7+ years’ experience in events or related industry
  • Working knowledge of International Olympic/Paralympic Committee is a plus 
  • Proven track record of leading the planning and delivery of large-scale, complex operations across multiple project phases including planning, readiness, and operations 
  • Skill working with senior executives and building cross-functional partnerships 
  • Strong negotiation, organizational and problem-solving skills 
  • Strong communication both written and oral 
  • Experience working with excel and Smartsheet applications 
  • Extremely detailed-oriented with excellent organizational skills 
  • A high energy level individual with the ability to manage through a period of growth and change

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Event Management, Sports Management, or related field; advanced degree preferred 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • The position is in Los Angeles with in-person attendance required
  • The LA28 office is an open floorplan working environment; employees must be able to work efficiently in an open cubicle environment 
  • The majority of work will be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment

The annual base salary range for this position is $105,000.00 - $140,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
