Senior Manager, Health Communications

Job Location:  Candidates must reside in Texas and be available for on-site work. Preference will be given to those located in Austin, though applicants from other locations will also be considered.

What You Will Do:  

  • Oversee a multi-disciplinary team of communications professionals and subject matter experts (SMEs) supporting a high-profile industry-led public awareness campaign.   

  • Serve as the lead point of contact for the client responsible for executing requests and managing overall program delivery.  

  • Work collaboratively with team leads and SMEs responsible for campaign strategy and delivery and evaluation; work closely with managers to develop and administer budgets, commitments, plans and schedules, staffing, and other contract management requirements.  

  • Advise the client on strategic planning for integrated marketing efforts, ensuring alignment with client objectives and priorities  

  • Manage relationships with senior-level clients and industry stakeholders to ensure programmatic success, buy-in, and client satisfaction, adjusting course when needed and maintaining an agile approach to program execution. 

  • Oversee and review deliverables and campaign material to ensure quality control and alignment with the client’s vision.  

  • Launch and monitor campaign pulses across multiple channels, including digital marketing, social media, paid media, and public relations. 

  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders, including team members, clients, or management, on campaign progress and key performance indicators. 

  • Prepare post-campaign reports, including detailed analysis of results, lessons learned, and recommendations for future campaigns. 

 

What You Will Bring With You:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, or a relevant field.  

  • At least 7 years of experience leading public health marketing and communications efforts, managing large-scale campaigns, outreach and engagement programsU.S. Citizenship required (required by our clients for the position) 

 

What We Would Like You To Bring With You:  

  • Ability and experience communicating effectively (speaking and writing) to diverse audiences to convey public health-related processes, problems, and solutions. 

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or related certifications  

  • Master’s degree in communications, public health, social sciences, business, or associated disciplines a plus  

  • Experience with public health program/project management (with a focus on topics such as maternal and child health, emergency services, program member recruitment and retention, substance abuse prevention, mental health support, and XYZ 

  • Knowledge of Texas Health and Human Services Commission and Texas Department of State Health Services culture and processes  

  • Experience with earned media and press operations, issues management 

  • Experience with media buying and paid social strategies. 

  • Experience working in an agency environment or with clients. 

  • Prior award-winning campaign experience a plus  

 

Professional Skills: 

  • Demonstrated experience in fast-paced dynamic environment with the ability to be a hands-on, trusted problem solver and leader.   

  • Demonstrated experience providing senior-level counsel to senior-level clients in the public, commercial, or NGO sectors. 

  • Superior verbal, written, organizational, and time management skills, as well as attention to detail. 

  • Ability to think creatively and provide unique solutions and rationale for solutions to clients’ communications challenges/problems.  

  • Ability to quickly understand problems, synthesize large amounts of information, and provide succinct recommendations that tie back to overall account communication strategies and tactics.  

  • Strong project management skills, including planning, organization, and multitasking. 

  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Asana, Trello, Monday.com) and MS Office Suite.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$98,614.00 - $202,850.00
