Job Summary:
Reporting to the Dir., Global Transportation, this role is responsible for leading strategic sourcing and supplier management initiatives across a comprehensive range of global transportation and logistics services. This includes parcel, truckload (TL), less-than-truckload (LTL), intermodal (IMDL), rail, air freight, ocean freight, and international logistics, as well as transportation management systems (TMS) and related services. The role is responsible for developing and executing global category strategies that drive cost savings, service improvement, innovation, and risk mitigation across all modes of transport and regions.
Responsibilities:
Domestic and International Logistics: Parcel, TL, LTL, rail, intermodal, Ocean (FCL/LCL), air freight, cross-border shipments.
Logistics Technology: TMS platforms, freight audit/payment, and tracking. Conduct market analysis, benchmarking, and supplier assessments to support data-driven sourcing decisions. Lead sourcing events (RFIs/RFPs/RFQs), contract negotiations, and carrier selection processes focused on total cost of ownership and service level performance.
Supplier & Carrier Relationship Management: Manage key logistics providers and carriers to ensure service reliability, continuous improvement, and compliance with negotiated terms. Monitor carrier KPIs and SLAs across cost, quality, on-time delivery, capacity, and innovation. Partner with Logistics, Transportation, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to address service issues, network optimization, and capacity planning.
Cost Optimization & Risk Management: Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives across global logistics spend. Develop risk mitigation strategies around capacity, geopolitical issues, tariffs, compliance, and carrier performance. Leverage analytics to drive freight lane optimization, mode conversion, and consolidation opportunities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Fleet, Supply Chain, Finance, IT, Legal, Operations, and Compliance teams to ensure alignment of strategies with business objectives. Provide market intelligence and insights to internal stakeholders for planning and forecasting.
Qualifications:
7+ years’ experience in Fleet Management or Operations.
5+ years leading a team.
Bachelor’s degree: Business, Supply Chain, or relevant focus preferred.
Travel up to 25%
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong problem-solving ability with logical reasoning.
Strong customer service skills with ability to speak on the phone a large portion of the day.
Ability to multi-task.
