What is the Opportunity?

As the Senior Manager – FX Strategy and Execution, you will lead a high-performing team of FX Sales Professionals across the Trinidad & Tobago and Barbados markets. Collaborating closely with the Director – FX Strategy and Execution, you will drive maximum profitability through strategic trading of USD and other G10 currencies. Your role will encompass strategy implementation, relationship management with RBC entities and local Central Banks, and ensuring alignment with risk management and regulatory frameworks.

What Will You Do?:

  • Develop and execute FX trading strategies to optimize profitability, client growth, and risk management.
  • Foster strong partnerships with local and regional Financial Institutions (FIs) to enhance RBC’s market presence and reputation.
  • Collaborate with Sales Teams to acquire new corporate and institutional clients, expanding RBC’s customer base and FX revenue streams.
  • Monitor daily currency positions to ensure compliance with risk management policies and established limits.
  • Design needs-based sales strategies in partnership with RBC business units to drive FX trading revenue, client profitability, and loyalty.
  • Achieve FX profitability goals through spot transactions in local and hard currencies.
  • Serve as an industry specialist, staying ahead of FX market trends and their potential impact on RBC’s operations.
  • Secure access to US dollars as a critical success factor for Caribbean Banking operations.
  • Mentor FX Sales Professionals and collaborate with institutional players across Treasury operations in the region.

What You Need to Succeed:

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years in FX Sales and trading, with a deep understanding of forex markets.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Financial Risk Management, Economics, or a related field.
  • Expertise in banking statutes and legislation for Caribbean and international jurisdictions.
  • Comprehensive understanding of financial and economic trends across local, regional, and global markets.
  • Proven ability to engage with senior leaders internally and externally.
  • Familiarity with CT (Cash Management/Trade Finance) activities and cross-team collaboration.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Advanced certifications in FX or risk management (e.g., ACI Dealing Certificate).
  • Experience in Caribbean banking or emerging markets.
