What you’ll be doing

The Senior Manager, FP&A will play a pivotal role in supporting Project Finance, Technology, Security, Operations, and Facilities. Reporting to the Director of FP&A, this individual contributor position partners with key stakeholders across the organization to deliver insightful financial analysis, drive process improvements, and support strategic decision-making. The role may evolve to include direct reports in the future.

How you’ll succeed

  • Month-End Close & Accounting Support:
    Partner with Accounting and Operations to ensure accurate month-end close processes for assigned areas. Knowledge of technology and real estate terminology and the related accounting treatment under both IFRS and GAAP.

  • Variance Analysis:
    Analyze financial results, identify trends, and communicate drivers of key variances to stakeholders.

  • Reporting & Forecasting:
    Prepare and deliver timely, accurate financial reports, forecasts, and presentations for senior management.

  • Annual Planning:
    Lead and coordinate the annual planning process for supported functions, including budget development and scenario analysis.

  • Project Finance:
    Provide financial support for capital projects, including business case evaluation and post-implementation reviews.

  • Business Partnering:
    Build strong relationships with Technology, Security, Operations, and Facilities teams to understand business needs and deliver actionable insights.

  • Process Improvement:
    Identify opportunities to enhance FP&A processes, reporting, and analytics; drive implementation of best practices.

  • Ad-Hoc Analysis:
    Support strategic initiatives and business cases with robust financial modeling and analysis. Work on special projects and ad hoc requests, as required.

Who you are

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.

  • You possess 8-10 years of progressive experience in FP&A or related financial roles.

  • You are an experienced leader managing multiple capital projects, process improvements, and stakeholder expectations.

  • You show advanced proficiency in SAP, Essbase, and Power BI.

  • You have your CPA and/or MBA preferred but not required.

  • You portray strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.

  • You are able to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $130K - $160K for the Chicago, IL market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
