As a key Strategic Advisor in the Senior Manager, Finance Role, you will serve as the primary finance liaison for essential Corporate Functions, including Finance, HR, and Legal. Working in close partnership with the Director of Financial Business Partnering (FBP) and senior leadership, you will provide the critical insights and financial guidance necessary to drive informed decision-making across the organization.

Core Impact Areas:

  • Strategic Advisory: Act as a high-visibility partner to Senior Executives, translating complex financial data into actionable strategies that support profitable growth.

  • Financial Oversight: Lead the planning, accounting, and performance reporting for select Corporate Functions, ensuring alignment with broader organizational goals.

  • Process Excellence: Manage the central cost allocation model, ensuring precise distribution of corporate costs across the enterprise.

  • Leadership: Directly manage and mentor a Senior Financial Analyst, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.

This role reports to: Director, Finance Business Partnering

This role is hybrid (2-3 days/week in the office) - based in Toronto, ON.

Key Accountabilities:

FP&A

Planning, Budgeting, & Forecasting

  • In collaboration with the central finance team, lead efficient quarterly forecasting and annual business planning across TMX Corporate functions, including coordination of timelines and assumption alignment across units

  • Lead the consolidation and analysis of forecasts and budgets against company objectives, both in aggregate and at the CF level, including multi-stage review with CF senior leadership team

  • Manage the long-term strategic forecast model for CFs as part of the inputs to the overall TMX strategy presented to senior leadership and the Board of Directors

CF Performance Reporting

  • With a focus on forward-looking action and valuable insights, responsible for monthly management reporting packages to Senior leadership including contributions to content selection, key messages and insights, and collaboration across the finance team

  • Continually assess and provide constructive guidance on how CFs are measured, including creation of dashboards and focused KPIs that lead to more impactful insights

  • Incorporate CF feedback to continually evolve reporting to meet business needs as well as to improve efficiency through ‘smarter’ report creation and use of BI/AI tools

  • Prepare various supplementary schedules, as required, for financial reporting and inputs to MD&A

Cost Allocations

  • Responsible for the enterprise-wide corporate function cost allocation framework, spanning legal entities and operating segments

  • Participate in updates to the design and structure of the model, including tools, principles, governance, regulatory and tax compliance

  • Carrying out hands-on execution of allocation model runs including data preparation, results review and analysis, including annual budget setting, quarterly true ups and tax rate calculations

  • Optimize the straight through processing of the model

  • Analysis of results and communication with various stakeholders (both providers and receivers) across the enterprise

  • Provide detailed transparency to senior management and Finance Business Partner’s (“FBP’s”) of core drivers and outcomes, with a specific focus on deepening understanding of value provided and where BUs can influence shared service costs

  • Engagement throughout planning process to ensure allocations  are correctly incorporated into the enterprise budget

  • Development of enhanced reporting

  • Collaborate with external and internal auditors to ensure successful audits

  • Demonstrate and promote the use of allocation data to enhance business intelligence, enterprise performance information and to support strategic initiatives and projects as needed

Business Performance Improvement

  • Participation in and leadership of, various Business Improvement Initiatives, and projects across finance

  • Recommendation of process improvements and identification of cost savings, opportunities/efficiencies

  • Support the ongoing transformation of finance through the identification and capture of key performance data, including cost, other financial and non financial data to support leadership in executing the finance transformation roadmap

Must Have(s):

  • 5 - 10 years of progressive finance experience, preferably in financial services or business consulting

  • University degree with a Business, Engineering or Science background; CPA/CFA preferred

  • You have a proven track record of navigating complex cost allocations or chargeback models within large, sophisticated organizations

  • Financial Modeling - 5+ years of experience and advanced Excel

  • Have a business partnering mindset, diplomatic and a collaborative style

  • Strong analytical skills (ability to deal with complex issues)

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Demonstrated time management and problem solving skills

  • Digital Literacy - comfortable with the adoption and day to day use of BI and AI tools in your daily workflow

Nice to Have(s):

  • Exposure to significant projects and initiatives

  • Exposure to Data and Reporting Analytics, use of Quicksight

  • Knowledge of Workday Financials and Workday Projects

  • Experience with the Google Suite of Tools including Gemini

Salary Range: 120,000/year -140,000/year CAD
