Senior Manager, External Supply Data & Analytics Lead

ROLE SUMMARY

The Data and Analytics Solutions team, which is part of PGS (Pfizer Global Supply) Creation Center within the Chief Digital Office, is responsible for the development and management of all data and analytic tools and applications across PGS value streams. The team’s focus is transforming PGS with trusted, AI-ready data, solutions & capabilities through robust Data Governance and AI technologies by automating processes, augmenting personas and accelerating insights to foster a Data-Driven culture.​

As a Senior Manager – External Supply (ES) Lead, you will be lead and be responsible to orchestrate solution strategy, delivery, and adoption of analytical solutions across ES operations, CMO Collaboration and Pfizer Center One business functions, ensuring resilient supply, faster decisions, and measurable business value. You will work closely with ES leadership to guide them on AI strategy to enhance decision making and improve overall operational efficiency. You will partner with Forward Impact teams, AI CoE, other Digital PGS Creation Center teams, and Platform teams to turn strategy into scaled solutions aligned to PGS priorities. You will lead a team of technical and delivery professionals in this capacity, while influencing business stakeholders and communicate progress and outcomes to executive leadership.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Director of Supply Execution & Strategy Solutions, the External Supply Lead will be responsible for the following:

  • Lead the end‑to‑end data and analytics strategy for External Supply (ES), ensuring alignment with PGS Data Lake, ES Digital, and Creation Center workstreams.

  • Establish and enforce data governance standards, data quality rules, and health checks across supplier/vendor-linked datasets, ensuring reliable, compliant, and interoperable data.

  • Drive integration of ES data into enterprise platforms (Data hub, SAP/S4, Rapid Response, SupplyIQ), ensuring stable pipelines, lineage tracking, and metadata transparency.

  • Oversee data, analytics, automation, and reporting workstreams across all External Supply projects, Pfizer Contract manufacturing, ensuring scope clarity, milestone delivery, and cross‑functional alignment.

  • Serve as the primary analytics partner to ES Creation Centers, ensuring their digital, master data, and operational requirements are reflected in digital roadmap and vision.

  • Provide data‑driven insights that support prioritization, investment decisions, and digital transformation initiatives across the ES network.

  • Champion a value‑driven delivery mindset – prioritizing use cases based on impact, feasibility, and ROI, and guiding teams to build scalable solutions that accelerate enterprise‑wide adoption.

  • Ensure all data, analytics, and automation initiatives are grounded in clear business outcomes, measurable value, and alignment with ES and PGS strategic objectives.

  • Drive a culture of data literacy, transparency, and evidence‑based decision‑making within ES Creation Centers and broader external supply teams.


Professional Experience and Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field with 6+ years of experience OR Master’s degree (preferred) with 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer / 3+ years of experience as a Data Architect with Data warehousing, Data modeling, and Data transformation

  • Requires exceptional knowledge of Supply Chain processes and applies these skills to ensure a External Supply organization meets its goals

  • Ability to Innovate, exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and executive communication skills are required

  • Strong business acumen and ability to influence in a global, matrixed organization

  • Familiarity with emerging AI frameworks and libraries (LangChain, LlamaIndex, vector stores) and their application to solving supply‑chain and manufacturing challenges.

  • Deep understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering, fine‑tuning, model evaluation, and responsible AI practices for regulated environments.

  • Practical expertise in building, deploying, and optimizing Agentic AI systems, including tool‑using agents, workflow orchestration, and autonomous task execution frameworks.

  • Experience designing end‑to‑end AI pipelines—data ingestion, feature/embedding generation, model integration, and enterprise deployment across cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).

  • Experience with Software engineering best-practices, including but not limited to version control (Git, TFS, Subversion, etc.), CI/CD (Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, etc.), automated unit testing, Dev Ops.

  • Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages, including but not limited to: SQL, Java, Scala, C, C++, C#, Swift/Objective C, Python, or JavaScript

  • Understanding of AWS Cloud stack (EC2, S3, Redshift) and MS Azure

  • Understanding and experience of modern data platforms like (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Spark, Teradata, etc.).

  • Architected end-to-end data pipelines with a cloud or on prem stack

  • Working knowledge of Biotech / Pharma Supply Chain experience is a plus

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • Hands‑on Agile experience with modern delivery methodologies and cross‑disciplinary team environments.

  • Working knowledge of ML‑powered and LLM‑based products, including experience with agentic AI approaches.

  • Experience designing automated, reusable analytic workflows and model pipelines for enterprise use.

  • Strong capability in building data and analytic products that resonate with both technical and non‑technical users.

  • Pharma & Life Sciences commercial domain knowledge and data literacy.

  • Experience with agentic AI platforms such as Azure AI Foundry.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $124 400,00 to $201 400,00.* In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 17,5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
