Job Summary
CIB Global Markets is currently looking to recruit a Senior Manager to manage a growth area in the Eurobond space and support sales and trading out of both the domestic and offshore offices. The ideal candidate should have minimum of 5 years experience with Euroclear, Fedwire and DTC settlement knowledge gained in a Global Markets environment.Job Description
To provide support to the Internal & External Stakeholders in relation to the following:
• Demonstrate In-depth Market Operations knowledge & expertise across offshore fixed income products and processes, included Collateral settlements
• “Go to” person as considered a Subject-Matter expert across Market Operations.
• Engage external Absa clients to discuss concerns and how best to accommodate their strategies.
• Keep abreast of emerging behaviours, technologies, regulations & companies that are changing our business.
• Take accountability and be visible to stakeholders on issue resolution, by providing proactive solutions.
• Investigation & resolution identification, of problems prior handing over to “IT change” teams.
• New product approval ownership & understanding Operational implications.
• Functional alignment management of moving tasks across units & divisions.
• Assist in defining & driving the strategic direction of multiple desks within Markets & Treasury that settle fixed income products offshore
Define project objectives & set key performance metrics.
• Identify new opportunities to enhance delivery, reduce risk & operating expenses while improving efficiency.
• MI & KPI reporting – monthly review, analysis & refinement.
• Establishing & Management of SLAs
• Ad hoc query resolution.
SME
• Act as the key entry point into all post trade services related aspects for the businesses supported
• Support PTS in all senior meetings, providing Operational intellectual capital and support.
• Staying abreast of best & new market practices & any regulation or other changes that will impact the business or clients' service.
• Stakeholder & service provider engagement of business changes.
• Develop key proposals, communication and presentations.
Special Project Management
• Analyse, research & investigate a wide range of issues on behalf of Stakeholders. Articulate pragmatic solutions for hand over to the IT or BA change teams.
• Play a leading role in ensuring the successful delivery of Change for Offshore Bonds
• Co-ordinate change acceptance of ad-hoc initiatives and workload that originate from other areas
• Instrumental in any go live embedment and success.
• Continuously review and improve existing processes to ensure scalability and excellent service.
Strategy
• Support with all aspects of strategic planning, improving client & stakeholder service.
• Functional alignment involvement, ensuring a most effective & efficient model.
• Provide direction to teams to align with Ops strategic & tactical initiatives.
• Assist build out of an Activity based costing model to support stakeholders understanding of their business drivers and roll up into correct strategy.
New Product Approval
• Ownership & co-ordination of new product approvals.
• Structured trade reviews ensuring risk mitigation from an Operational perspective.
• Attend meetings to discuss Operational implications with meaningful contribution.
• Challenge senior stakeholders on new product feasibility.
• Discuss new products with relevant Ops units to ensure end to end understanding.
