We are now looking for a Senior Manager EHS (m/f/d) for our site in Rheinfelden.

How will you make an impact?

As Senior Manager of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) (m/f/d) at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you'll contribute to strategic initiatives that enable our mission of making the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. You'll develop and implement comprehensive EHS and sustainability programs across manufacturing, laboratory, and office environments while promoting a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.

In this leadership role, you'll support continuous improvement in workplace safety, environmental compliance, and sustainability through collaboration with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders. You'll serve as the primary technical expert for EHS matters, coordinate incident prevention and response, manage regulatory compliance, and develop training programs that enable employees to maintain the highest safety standards.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Advanced Degree profound level of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus some more years of experience, in EHS experience in regulated industries, with demonstrated expertise in EHS regulations and standards
  • Preferred Fields of Study: Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Science/Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or related technical field
  • Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, CHMM highly desired
  • Formally recognized EHS qualification in Germany, including:
    • Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit (SiFa)
    • Certified Fire Protection Officer (Brandschutzbeauftragter)
    • Environmental Management Representative (ISO 14001)
  • ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 Lead Auditor or Practitioner certification preferred
  • Many years of leadership/management experience
  • In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations, OSHA standards, and EHS management systems
  • Demonstrated success developing and implementing EHS programs and training
  • Experience managing hazardous materials/waste programs and emergency response activities
  • Demonstrated ability to guide organizational change across all levels
  • Strong project management, data analysis, and continuous improvement skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build effective relationships with regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders
  • Must be able to respond to emergencies and wear protective equipment when needed
  • Experience with ISO 14001/45001 systems preferred, familiarity with GMP/laboratory environments beneficial
  • Travel up to 20% may be required
