Job Summary:
We are seeking a commercially-driven, analytical, and highly organized Senior Manager, Digital Merchandising to lead the delivery of a best-in-class global shopping experience. Reporting to the Senior Director of eCommerce, you will be the primary architect of Ruggable’s digital storefront, ensuring our product catalog is presented with precision, relevance, and commercial intent.
Success in this role means moving beyond "site maintenance" to "active trading." You will work in close partnership with UX/UI, Creative Marketing, and Digital Content teams to build a cohesive user journey that balances storytelling with shopability. As an expert communicator with a rare taste level and a discerning eye for brand elevation, you possess a unique ability to weave data and commercial objectives into sophisticated briefs and on-site experiences that inspire creative teams and align leadership. You lead with a refined, confident POV, ensuring every user journey is culturally relevant, brand-consistent, and aesthetically superior.
In this capacity, you will manage a team of Site Merchandisers, implementing new procedures and building efficiencies across existing workflows while fostering an environment that motivates and inspires. You are a Figma power-user, a project management powerhouse, and a "launch day" leader who ensures marketing and site updates go live flawlessly and on schedule across our NA, AU, and EU storefronts.
What You'll Do:
Strategic Campaign Leadership & Product Flow
- Unified Campaign Vision: Serve as the authoritative voice for site experience during campaign planning. Partner with Creative Marketing to ensure brand campaigns are translated effectively to the digital storefront, taking Paid, Retention, and Social partners on a clear, confident journey.
- Monthly Product Flow Planning: Lead the planning of monthly product flows, driving the team to upload products and assets much further in advance to ensure a proactive, "clean" site transition and reduce last-minute "fire drills."
- Launch Day "Command Center": Lead the end-to-end execution of launch days. Coordinate the exact moment products go live alongside marketing pushes, ensuring 100% alignment across all digital touchpoints.
- UX/UI Collaboration: Maintain a continuous feedback loop with the UX/UI team to optimize site components, ensuring that new features or layout changes enhance both the aesthetic "taste level" and the commercial conversion of the site.
- Visualization via Figma: Leverage Figma to prototype new site experiences and merchandising layouts. Use these mockups to bridge the gap between Creative vision and UI constraints, aligning stakeholders before engineering execution.
Commercial Site Trading & Data Storytelling
- Active Site Trading: Maintain a relentless "trading" mentality. Proactively read out business performance week-to-week, leveraging BI tools and Yotpo insights to identify opportunities for maximizing AUV, AOV, CVR, RPV, and cash sales.
- Analytics Partnership: Maintain close connectivity with the Analytics team to evolve our reporting. Engage the Analytics team in our strategic roadmap so they can help tell the story of site performance through actionable metrics.
- Customer Insight Integration: Partner with the Consumer Experience (CE) Lead to digest product feedback and Yotpo reviews, using findings to influence site tagging, filtering logic, and "Shop the Look" modules.
- Catalog Mastery: Oversee the Catalog Specialist to ensure total data integrity. Guarantee every product is accurately tagged, categorized, and attributed for optimal searchability.
Operational Excellence & Team Leadership
- Process Innovation: Audit existing workflows to identify friction points. Implement new, high-efficiency procedures and "net new" operational frameworks that increase the team's speed-to-market.
- Rigorous Site QA: Establish and enforce a "zero-defect" QA standard across the team. Lead the QA process across mobile and desktop to ensure all filters, tags, and navigation paths function perfectly.
- Motivational Leadership: Act as the primary driver of team morale and inspiration. Foster a culture of high-ownership, commercial curiosity, and pride in "site perfection" among the Site Merchandisers.
Site Experience & Product Discovery
- Constructor Ownership: Own the search and browse experience. Level up site complexity by introducing personalized product recommendation sequencing and sophisticated cross-sell carousels.
- Navigation Evolution: Obsess over the details of site navigation and filtering across all global storefronts (NA, AU, EU) to ensure discovery is frictionless.
What You’ll Need to Have:
Required:
- Experience: 7+ years in site merchandising (D2C/Apparel/Home décor preferred) with 3-5+ years of direct people management experience.
- Visualization Skills: Well-versed in Figma for prototyping and site experience planning.
- Platform Mastery: Deep, hands-on experience in Shopify, Constructor, Yotpo, and BI tools (Sigma/Looker/GA4).
- Project Management & Tooling Architecture: Expert-level proficiency in managing complex, cross-functional workflows. You must demonstrate "power-user" depth in Jira/Confluence, Asana, and Airtable.
- Analytical Mindset: You are acutely aware of the relationship between AOV, CVR, traffic, and revenue.
- International POV: Proven experience building digital strategies across multiple countries (specifically NA to AU/EU synchronization).
- Cross-Functional Synergy: Proven ability to work alongside UX/UI designers and Creative directors to maintain the highest visual standards without compromising on site performance or technical feasibility.
- Strategic Communication & Elevated POV: An expert communicator with a rare taste level and a discerning eye for brand elevation. You possess a unique ability to weave data and commercial objectives into sophisticated briefs and on-site experiences that inspire creative teams and align leadership. You lead with a refined, confident POV, ensuring every user journey is culturally relevant, brand-consistent, and aesthetically superior.
- Executive Presence: Exceptional communication skills and the ability to argue for strategy based on data in front of Executive leadership.
- Strategic Intuition: A unique blend of technical "horsepower" and business "gut"—you know when the data is telling a story and when it needs deeper interrogation.
- Leadership: A "confident guide" who can align disparate teams (Creative, Retention, Paid, PR and Social) under a single site vision and create/implement net-new procedures with urgency.
Preferred:
- Growth Mindset: A proactive problem solver who is obsessed with the technical details of site "perfection."
- Visual POV: Experience attending shoots and collaborating with studio teams to produce high-performing imagery.
Compensation:
- $150,000 per year base salary
- An annual bonus percentage that varies based on level of role
- Employer matching (up to 3% of base salary) for company sponsored 401K plan
- The position is currently hybrid (3 days in office), based in our corporate Torrance, CA location.
