Position Overview
The Senior Manager, DevOps will serve as a strategic leader responsible for shaping and scaling Insulet’s DevOps capabilities across embedded software development. This role will oversee multiple teams and initiatives focused on CI/CD automation, infrastructure optimization, and compliance for regulated environments. The Senior Manager will define long-term DevOps strategies, drive innovation in tooling and processes, and ensure operational excellence to support Insulet’s global product development efforts.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
• Define and execute the vision for DevOps across embedded software programs, aligning with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
• Establish multi-year roadmaps for CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and reliability improvements.
• Technical Excellence:
• Architect scalable CI/CD frameworks supporting concurrent development streams and complex embedded systems.
• Drive adoption of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), automated compliance checks, and advanced monitoring solutions.
• Team Development & Mentorship:
• Lead and grow a high-performing DevOps organization, including managers and senior engineers.
• Mentor technical leaders and foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Partner with software development, QA, systems engineering, and regulatory teams to ensure seamless integration of DevOps practices.
• Influence product architecture for improved build, test, and deployment efficiency.
• Process & Compliance:
• Implement robust governance for version control, configuration management, and release processes.
• Ensure audit readiness and compliance with FDA, ISO 13485, and other regulatory standards.
• Metrics & Reporting:
• Define KPIs for DevOps performance, reliability, and scalability; report progress to executive leadership

Required Skills and Competencies
Advanced knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps) and scripting languages (Python, Bash).
Strong understanding of embedded build systems (CMake, Make) and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
Familiarity with static analysis tools (SonarQube, Coverity) and compliance automation.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills.
Ability to drive organizational change and scale DevOps practices globally.
Education and Experience
BS in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; MS preferred.
10+ years of experience in DevOps or software engineering, with 3+ years in a leadership role.
3+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure for embedded systems.
3+ years of experience managing complex development, test, and production environments.
Additional Information
The position is hybrid at our Acton office.
Travel is estimated at 0% but will flex depending on business needs.

Compensation & Benefits: For U.S.-based positions only, the annual base salary range for this role is $151,800.00 - $227,700.00 This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation.
