Senior Manager, Data Science & Data Engineering

Experienced and strategic Senior Manager of Data Science and Data Engineering to lead our EU-based data team. This role will be responsible for managing and scaling a high-performing team of data scientists and data engineers, driving advanced analytics initiatives, and ensuring robust, compliant data infrastructure across the European region.

The Senior Manager will brings deep expertise in both data science and data engineering, a strong understanding of GDPR and data governance, and a proven track record of delivering business impact through machine learning models, pricing strategies, and customer intelligence platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a multidisciplinary EU team of data scientists and data engineers
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders across product, sales, marketing, and customer success

Data Science & Advanced Analytics

  • Design and deploy customer intelligence models, including:
    • Upsell and cross-sell propensity models
    • Customer churn prediction models
  • Develop and enhance pricing models to optimize revenue and customer value
  • Drive experimentation, model validation, and continuous improvement

Data Engineering & Infrastructure

  • Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of scalable ETL pipelines
  • Ensure high standards of data quality, reliability, and observability
  • Manage large-scale data systems and architectures across modern platforms

Technology & Platform Ownership

  • Own and evolve the internal customer intelligence platform (RingIQ)
  • Leverage and optimize a modern data stack including Oracle, Hadoop, Snowflake, Databricks, and AWS ecosystem
  • Evaluate and integrate emerging AI/ML technologies and tools

Data Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure all data practices comply with GDPR and EU data protection regulations
  • Manage secure access to sensitive customer data
  • Establish best practices in data governance, privacy, and security

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in data science, data engineering, or related roles
  • 3+ years of experience managing high-performing technical teams
  • Strong expertise in machine learning, statistical modeling, and customer analytics
  • Hands-on experience with modern data platforms (Oracle, Hadoop, Snowflake, Databricks, AWS)
  • Proven experience building and scaling ETL pipelines and data infrastructure
  • Deep understanding of GDPR and data privacy frameworks in the EU
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing geographically distributed teams
  • Familiarity with customer success tools or CRM analytics platforms
  • Exposure to AI initiatives such as generative AI, NLP, or advanced automation
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate data insights into strategic decisions
