Role Overview

As Senior Manager, Data & Process Automation, you will serve as the technical and delivery leader for data, analytics, and process automation within Micron Global Procurement. This role is accountable for prioritizing, delivering, and sustaining high‑value solutions that measurably improve GP outcomes.

You will lead a blended delivery organization consisting of BI Analysts, Automation Analysts, and contracted resources, ensuring work is prioritized through a structured intake process based on business value, risk reduction, and operational impact. You will balance speed, quality, and sustainability while enforcing intake processes, architectural standards, security requirements, and SLAs.

This is a highly hands‑on technical leadership role. The Senior Manager is expected to actively troubleshoot issues, simplify complex problems, guide technical direction, manage technical debt, and help teams connect business needs to scalable, maintainable solutions. While this is not an IT role, it requires close partnership with IT, Smart Manufacturing and Security teams to ensure enterprise alignment without sacrificing delivery speed.

Key Responsibilities

Business Value–Driven Intake & Prioritization

  • Own and manage the end‑to‑end delivery backlog using a formal intake process.
  • Prioritize work based on business value, impact, urgency, and strategic alignment.
  • Evaluate tradeoffs between speed, scope, technical debt, and long‑term sustainability when sequencing work.
  • Partner with GP stakeholders to define business value, success metrics, and expected outcomes before work begins.
  • Ensure team capacity is focused on the highest‑value initiatives, not just the most urgent or visible requests.
  • Continuously reassess priorities based on changing business needs, performance data, and stakeholder feedback.

Team & Delivery Leadership

  • Lead and develop a high‑performing delivery organization comprising:
    • Business Intelligence (BI) Analysts
    • Automation Analysts
    • External contractors and delivery partners
  • Establish clear delivery standards, role clarity, and performance expectations across internal and external resources.
  • Own agile execution, including intake triage, backlog grooming, sprint planning, and delivery commitments.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for delivery risks, technical blockers, and quality issues.

Data, Automation & Platform Delivery

  • Ensure consistent, high‑quality delivery across:
    • BI dashboards and operational / executive reporting
    • Robotic Process Automation (RPA)
    • Power Platform solutions (Power Apps, Power Automate)
    • SharePoint‑based workflows and collaboration solutions
    • Snowflake‑based reporting and data consumption
    • Light ETL scripts and data transformations
  • Ensure solutions are designed for scalability, performance, security, and long‑term maintainability.
  • Balance rapid value delivery with technical rigor and platform sustainability.

Technical Leadership & Problem Solving

  • Serve as a hands‑on technical leader who can:
    • Troubleshoot complex data, automation, and reporting issues
    • Review and guide solution designs and implementation approaches
    • Simplify over‑engineered solutions and recommend pragmatic tradeoffs
  • Help teams connect business requirements to the right technical approach, avoiding unnecessary complexity.
  • Provide technical mentorship to BI and automation analysts, raising overall solution quality.
  • Actively manage and reduce technical debt through refactoring, standardization, and lifecycle planning.

Standards, Intake Discipline & SLAs

  • Enforce adherence to the intake process, delivery standards, and architectural guardrails.
  • Ensure all solutions meet defined SLAs for:
    • Reliability and availability
    • Performance
    • Supportability
    • Security and compliance
  • Partner with IT, Data and Security teams to ensure solutions align with enterprise standards while maintaining delivery efficiency.
  • Establish and maintain documentation, design standards, and operational runbooks.

Stakeholder Partnership & Value Realization

  • Act as a trusted partner to GP leaders, helping them frame requests through the intake process in terms of value, outcomes, and tradeoffs.
  • Ensure delivered solutions generate measurable business value, not just technical completion.
  • Communicate delivery status, prioritization decisions, risks, and constraints clearly to senior stakeholders.
  • Continuously refine solutions based on adoption metrics, performance data, and realized business outcomes.

Qualifications

Education

  • Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Information Systems, Computer Science, Analytics, or a related field (required).
  • Certifications or formal education in analytics, data science, AI, automation, or product management strongly preferred

Experience

  • 10+ years leading data, analytics, automation, or digital delivery teams in complex, enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading highly technical teams while remaining personally hands‑on in troubleshooting and solution design.
  • Proven success managing a high‑volume backlog through a value‑based intake process.
  • Strong experience operating in agile, iterative delivery models.
  • Experience scaling data and automation solutions across global, diverse organizations.

Technical & Functional Skills

  • Strong hands‑on understanding of:
  • BI and analytics development
  • RPA and automation design patterns
  • Power Apps and Power Automate
  • SharePoint workflows and integrations
  • Snowflake reporting and data consumption models
  • Light ETL scripting and data transformations
  • Strong architectural judgment—knowing when to standardize, refactor, or retire solutions.
  • Ability to quickly diagnose issues, simplify complexity, and guide teams toward efficient solutions.
  • Business domain literacy in Procurement, Supply Chain, or Operations environments.

Leadership & Communication

  • Proven ability to build and sustain high‑performing, technically strong teams.
  • Comfortable making prioritization decisions and clearly explaining tradeoffs to senior stakeholders.
  • Strong stakeholder management and executive‑level communication skills.
  • Track record of developing talent and delivering measurable business outcomes through data and automation.

What Success Looks Like (12–18 Months)

  • Delivery work is consistently prioritized through the intake process based on business value and impact.
  • High‑value dashboards, automations, and workflows are delivered predictably and meet SLAs.
  • Reduced technical debt and improved maintainability across data and automation assets.
  • Strong stakeholder confidence that the team delivers the right work, not just more work.
  • A technically strong, value‑oriented team capable of solving complex problems with minimal escalation.
