Job Summary

The Senior Manager: Data Analytics (Digital, Media & Performance) leads the execution of advanced analytics strategies that optimise digital and media performance across all marketing channels. This role transforms data into actionable insights that inform strategic decisions, improve ROI, and enhance customer acquisition and engagement. Operating within a digitally enabled marketing ecosystem, the role ensures robust measurement frameworks, attribution models, and performance dashboards are embedded to drive continuous improvement and deliver business impact.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities:

Digital & Media Performance Management

  • Monitor and analyse performance across paid search, social, display, video, and affiliate channels.

  • Identify optimisation opportunities to improve return on ad spend, conversions, and engagement.

Measurement Frameworks & Attribution

  • Design and implement attribution models and scorecards to assess campaign impact across touchpoints.

  • Establish pre-campaign targets and post-campaign analysis (PCA) to evaluate effectiveness.

Dashboarding & Reporting

  • Develop real-time dashboards and weekly performance reports for leadership and stakeholders.

  • Present insights in a clear, actionable format to guide strategic decisions.

Testing & Optimisation

  • Lead A/B and multivariate testing strategies across media and digital experiences.

  • Analyse test results to validate hypotheses and inform optimisation strategies.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with media agencies, finance, and digital product teams to align on KPIs and performance goals.

  • Facilitate forums for sharing insights and driving continuous improvement.

Data Quality & Governance

  • Ensure data integrity through robust tracking and governance protocols.

  • Maintain compliance with organisational and regulatory standards for data management.

Research & Insights

  • Collaborate with research teams for monthly deep dives into macro, micro, and campaign trends.

  • Integrate insights into performance strategies to anticipate market shifts.

Education & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Advanced Diploma, or B Tech [NQF 7]

  • Field of Study: (Preferred):

    • Marketing

    • Data Analytics

Work Experience:

  • 5 - 12 years experience in data analytics, including a track record of 3 years in a people management position.

  • Exposure to process design, optimisation, quality management, customer centricity, technology and data-driven decision-making is preferred.

  • Proven success in analysing multi-channel campaigns and delivering actionable insights.

  • Hands-on experience with analytics platforms

  • Familiarity with media measurement tools and financial performance integration.

  • Experience collaborating with agencies and cross-functional teams.
