Summary

This position will sit within the Boston Metropolitan Area

This position is responsible for leading and implementing collaborative business solutions aligned with both Tyson and customer objectives to achieve desired business results in the value-added poultry sector. You will manage the sale and profitable growth of Tyson's poultry business, providing sales leadership, support, and timely communication to both the customer and Tyson Business Units.

This role focuses on two key customers: BJ's and Costco. You will be responsible for planning, forecasting, and budgeting the volume and growth rate aligned with both the customer's and Tyson Business Unit's objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieving Sales Volume and Financial Objectives: Drive sales and meet financial targets.
  • Strategic Customer Relationships: Develop and lead strategic customer relationships for collaboration and joint sales planning.
  • Customer Interaction: Engage with customer sales planning teams at off-site customer office locations.
  • Effective Communication: Provide timely, concise, and effective communication both internally and externally.
  • Business Strategy Alignment: Align and execute multiple business strategies.
  • Sales Operations and Logistics Excellence: Collaborate with customer service, business units, and customers to deliver excellence.
  • Planning and Forecasting: Plan, forecast, and achieve high volume annual growth quotas.
  • Business Reviews: Manage weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual business reviews with the customer and Tyson.
  • Field Support and Communication: Provide Tyson field support, direction, and communication.
  • Special Project Planning and Execution: Lead special projects to drive business results.
  • T&E Deduction and AR Resolution: Manage and reduce T&E deductions and AR issues.
  • Sales Reporting: Prepare weekly sales reports.
  • Promotional Spending Management: Plan and manage the annual promotional spending calendar.
  • Competitive Tracking: Track and report competitive activities.
  • Contract Negotiations: Conduct price and volume contract negotiations.
  • Production Collaboration: Collaborate with production and production planning to optimize production flow and efficiencies.
  • Internal Team Collaboration: Work with various internal teams to create winning business propositions.
  • Customer Service Management: Work with the CSR team to manage and improve customer service.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Experience:
    • 7 plus years of experience - fresh chicken sales experience preferred.
    • 2 plus years sales experience in Retail channel and/or 2 plus years National Accounts Direct Sales Experience.
  • Computer Skills: Standard computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written skills; public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Supervisory: This position will have no direct reports.
  • Travel: 12 plus domestic trips per year.

Any listed amounts represent the base pay range. Additional compensation may be available for this position based on various factors such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonuses. Pay is just one part of Tyson’s total compensation package.
