What you’ll be doing

As the Senior Manager, Control Optimization & Analytics, reporting to Director, Control Optimization & Analytics, you will be a senior contributor for developing and delivering on the Advanced Analytics team’s technical solution strategies and commitment to develop, support, and continuously improve analytics capabilities and services. The Senior Manager, Control Optimization & Analytics is expected to lead design and development of key analytics projects, and will assist the execution and delivery of advanced analytics strategy.

How you’ll succeed

  • Lead Engagements & Initiatives - Actively lead complex advanced analytics engagements to ensure quality, depth of analysis, and clearly communicated and insightful results. Hands-on involvement in the technical solutioning process.

  • Provide Strategic Thought Leadership - Provide expertise to the Advanced Analytics team in ideation, planning, and executing analytics solutions to support all parts of the Business Controls function. Understand the big picture problems we are trying to solve and prioritize demand.

  • Lead Technical Solution Design - Lead the design with emphasis on scalability, automation, and usability of new and ongoing analytics projects. Use predictive/analytical algorithms and statistical data modeling tools to derive meaningful and actionable insights from data to support Business Controls activities.

  • Develop Dashboards - Design and create interactive dashboards to support continuous monitoring and control testing programs, create new analytics products that prompt timely action to support enterprise-wide change initiatives.

  • Develop Technical Templates - Create templates and documentation standards to ensure all work products are standardized and effectively delivered. Continually improve sustainable internal methods, standards, processes, and practices for delivery of data management and data analytics services.

  • Collaboration - Engage and work closely with consultants and leaders across CIBC’s analytics community to identify and realize points of integration and deliver coordinated analytics services.

Who you are

  • You have a degree. In Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Quantitative Finance and/or related sciences. Graduate degree in a quantitative field is an asset.

  • You can demonstrate experience. In Data Science and Data Analytics. Advanced practical and theoretical knowledge in specialized areas including data analytics, quantitative modeling, Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning (ML)/NLP, BI and/or statistical analysis. Practical experience utilizing advanced analytics, data management, and visualization tools such as Python, SQL, Power BI, SAS,, Azure, etc.

  • You give meaning to data. You enjoy investigating complex problems and making sense of information. You communicate detailed information in a meaningful way. You are a strategic and systematic thinker with a strong analytical and process development background. You are able to turn data into insights and effectively communicate complex technical ideas to business stakeholders.
