Position Overview:
JLL is seeking an experienced and proactive communications professional to serve as interim China Communications Lead during the maternity leave of the incumbent Director. This role will be responsible for driving and executing JLL’s internal and external communications strategy in China, ensuring alignment with global business priorities. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, manage media relations, lead China CEO communications, and oversee message delivery across internal and external channels.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute and deliver China-specific communications strategies in support of JLL’s business objectives.

  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with key media outlets in mainland China, with a focus on Shanghai and national business/real estate media outlets.

  • Develop compelling key messages and secure high-quality media coverage in target publications, in close collaboration with local marketing teams and the external PR agency.

  • Lead internal communications for the China CEO, including drafting executive messages, preparing talking points, and coordinating town halls and leadership updates.

  • Contribute regularly to JLL’s intranet and the Greater China internal newsletter with timely, engaging, and relevant content.

  • Oversee ongoing media monitoring and performance evaluation using established metrics; produce regular media performance reports.

  • Handle sensitive media issues or crises where needed.

  • Serve as a key liaison between China communications, APAC communications, and global headquarters as needed.

  • Manage relationships with external suppliers.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Excellent language skills, fluent in both Chinese and English.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or a related field.

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or media relations, preferably within professional services, real estate, or multinational corporations.

  • Proven track record in managing both internal and external communications in the China market.

  • Strong network with Chinese business, financial, and property media; experience securing coverage in top-tier outlets.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Mandarin and English.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and operate effectively under time-sensitive deadlines.
