What Commercial Operations contributes to BD

The mission of the Commercial Integration Team is to serve as a trusted strategic partner that enables the PI business units to drive profitable commercial growth by delivering differentiated value, enabling capabilities, and simplified processes that exceed the needs of our stakeholders and improve customer experience.
The PI Commercial Integration Team operates across the entire PI business unit to provide and develop enabling capabilities in the areas of commercial contracting, business & pricing analytics, master data management, commercial enablement, operational excellence, and other functions. We aim to strengthen our foundational capabilities and deliver customer value through simplification and improvement initiatives, develop, and prepare our associates, build an inclusive culture, drive digital transformation, and expand our strategic capabilities while remaining agile to the evolving needs of our customers.
Accountabilities in this role
Reporting to the Vice President, National Accounts, this position oversees the Offer Development activities for the PI business unit for Capital and Consumable products.
The Manager, Commercial Integration Offer Development is accountable to oversee the management of the front-end contract administration process combining the strengths and best practices across BD. This will be successfully accomplished through people leadership and best practice contract operations and associated policies, ensuring that the PI Commercial Operations strategy is implemented.
Engaging and collaborating closely with Sales Leaders, Sales Associates, and Finance, this position will drive best in class, innovative, enterprise operational capabilities and also establish policy, process and governance to ensure the effective implementation of complex, critical contracting activities which manage business opportunities appropriately.
This leadership position directly manages a team of associates, with primary US Region accountability.
Essential Responsibilities:
Oversee commercial contracting administration of Local and Direct agreements for capital and consumable products across all product platforms
Scope includes operationalizing all commercial sales contracts including National and Regional GPO contracts (consumables and capital), Regional Network (e.g., IDN) and other Regional/Local contracts, and Local Distribution Sales Programs
Manage post-signature commercial contract operations including initial price eligibility at contract commencement, contract updates (adds/deletes, pricing changes price increases and expires), and dealer contract notifications while ensuring the workflow process is operative from contract signature to installation of capital.
Significant and active collaboration with leaders to initiate business process continuous improvement activities, conduct root cause analysis, determine error prevention solutions, to enhance the distributor experience for long term success
Provide subject matter expertise and drive operations across the Commercial Capital Contracting Offer Development functional teams to bridge the process and optimize business continuity efficiently
Lead, implement, support and drive continuous process/system improvement initiatives across the Contract Operations functional teams while promoting business process integration across BDX
Responsible to maintain Contract related training material and updated desktop procedures in order to actively support and train
Facilitate requests to management to offer non-standard pricing and/or rebates for products
Perform compliance monitoring as it relates to renewal contract offers and inform Pre-deal and Sales team of results
Identify and understand key areas of change management with the ability to recognize and communicate the impact of change across the Contract Operations functional teams in order to adopt process initiatives and reinforce the need for change for long term sustainability while mitigating risk including leading and supporting administration of Sales Force, SharePoint, Case Management, CPQ, and CLM
Responsible for metrics, KPI’s (key performance indicators), SLA’s (service level agreements), and IIG’s in order to hold the team accountable for achieving the key strategic goals of the organization
Provide guidance and coaching to your staff to attract, develop, and retain talent
Minimum Requirements:
BA/BS required;(In lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree, 8+ years’ experience in commercial contract operations management)
5 years’ experience in commercial contract operations management, including contract strategy development, contract terms and conditions, policy and process development, continuous improvement, transactional contracting technologies, pricing strategy and execution, membership and distributor relationships
Proven ability to quickly establish credibility, trust, and support within all levels of organization.
Ability to partner with Sales Leaders, and other internal and external stakeholders to operationalize contract price offerings and drive best in class efficiency, timeliness and accuracy
Analytical problem solver with business acumen. Able to evaluate key business drivers and develop clear strategic recommendations
Demonstrated customer centricity skills and consistent expectations across team
Demonstrated background in effectively managing people and fostering career development; proven coaching, mentoring and leadership skills
Ability to build and motivate a team to achieve well communicated expectations.
