India - Bangalore Full time

Job Title - Senior Manager, Commercial, GBS Process & Analytics Services

Introduction to role

This Senior Manager role sits at the intersection of commercial strategy, process excellence and advanced analytics, turning complex challenges into measurable value for patients and customers. Working with Commercial business units across Oncology, BioPharmaceuticals, Alexion, International and Global Brands, the role drives smarter decision-making, sharper execution and better experiences across global markets. How can process re-engineering, automation and applied AI reshape launch readiness, field effectiveness or market access outcomes? This is the space where those questions are explored and turned into tangible impact. Leading a portfolio of high-value initiatives, the Senior Manager owns the journey from opportunity identification through to validated benefits, ensuring solutions are adopted, scaled and sustained across diverse markets and regulatory environments.

Accountabilities

  • Lead strategic engagement with senior Commercial collaborators across multiple regions, building confidence in GBS Process & Analytics Services and converting interest into committed sponsorship and long-term partnerships.
  • Shape and own customer strategies and account plans, defining clear value propositions and roadmaps that align to commercial priorities such as launch excellence, brand performance, access optimisation and customer experience.
  • Identify and qualify a pipeline of process and analytics opportunities with an annual impact exceeding $10m, using structured prioritisation frameworks that balance efficiency, cost, risk and strategic fit.
  • Own end-to-end delivery of a portfolio of $200k–$2m initiatives, ensuring scope clarity, robust arguments, disciplined execution and timely delivery within agreed budgets.
  • Design and orchestrate comprehensive process and analytics solutions that combine process mining, re-engineering, intelligent automation and decision intelligence to unlock value from platforms such as SAP, Veeva and Salesforce.
  • Identify and shape opportunities to apply AI and Agentic AI capabilities within commercial processes, evaluating where autonomous agents can enhance decision-making, accelerate workflows or improve customer interactions while maintaining compliance and control.
  • Pioneer the integration of Agentic AI solutions into process optimization initiatives, designing frameworks that enable AI agents to operate effectively within pharmaceutical commercial contexts, from launch planning to field force coordination.[PP1]
  • Translate complex data and process insights into compelling narratives that resonate with senior leaders. For example, show how cycle time reductions accelerate launches or improve field efficiency.
  • Establish and run effective governance for each initiative and portfolio, setting achievements, targets and benefits tracking mechanisms that focus on outcomes rather than activity.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including Business Analysts, data specialists, automation engineers and IT partners to deliver integrated solutions that work in real-world commercial settings.
  • Proactively manage risks, dependencies and issues across the portfolio, making timely decisions, resolving conflicts and maintaining momentum and collaborator confidence.
  • Lead cross-functional forums and co-creation workshops with Sales, Market Access, Medical and Marketing to surface difficulties, co-design solutions and drive shared ownership of change.
  • Partner closely with GBS Functional Partners and Enterprise Service Leads to align transformation initiatives with broader enterprise strategies and capabilities.
  • Act as the primary liaison between Commercial leadership and GBS PAS services, translating strategic ambitions into clear service requirements and scalable solutions.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, experimentation and learning within the team, sharing guidelines across markets and domains.
  • Model the effective use of AI tools in personal workflows, demonstrating how to reduce manual effort, accelerate analysis and enhance output quality, while building team capability in AI-augmented ways of working.[PP2]
  • Provide mentorship, guidance and task leadership to Managers and other team members, helping them develop consulting skills, collaborator management capabilities and delivery rigor.
  • Model AstraZeneca values in day-to-day work, fostering collaboration across geographies and functions while maintaining a strong focus on patient impact through commercial excellence.
