Within TPD, the Cloud Platform Supervisory Department (CPSD) develops and manages Rakuten's state-of-the-art cloud platform, empowering global scalability and accelerating innovation across its diverse business units.

The Cloud Platform Enablement Department (CPED) drives Rakuten Group's global infrastructure strategy by building and operating a robust private cloud platform and supporting public cloud environments. We empower application engineers to build reliable and scalable systems while ensuring unified support and consistent quality across all departments.
Rakuten Group's services are now part of social infrastructure in daily lives. We are sustaining that infrastructure from the backend focusing on the data platform where every day very high-volume data flows in.

The successful candidate will need experience, skills, and motivation to lead the IT infrastructure’s stability, reliability, resiliency, and productivity of DevOps for the Rakuten entire eco-system platform department and AI development department as a senior customer success manager and a SRE leader.
Position Details
- Lead improvement initiatives of stability, reliability, and resiliency for IT infra
- Standardization and Automation for IT infra management processes and operations
- Lead improving and enhancing the total quality of our services
- Manage IT incidents in troubles and provide RCA and post-mortem
- Consultation of hybrid could platform aligned with user needs and demands
- Collaborate closely with business units, service providers, and other stakeholders
- Manage TAM and SRE across regions in the diverse environment

- 1 Senior Manager, 1 Vice Senior Manager, and Some Managers
- Some members in Japan office and India office
- Most of the members joined as mid-career entries

Mandatory Qualifications:
Mandatory Tech Qualifications
- Proficiency in one or more of the following: Java, Go, Python, PHP, Ruby or shell scripting
- Experience with UNIX operating systems internals and/or networking
- Experience of DevOps with CI/CD tools (ex. Jenkins, CircleCI)
- Experience with monitoring, troubleshooting
- Experience managing systems on any Public Clouds platforms
Mandatory Non-Tech Qualifications
- Experience of people management for TAM or SRE in the IT industry across regions
- Experience of leading a customer success team or TAM/SRE team
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Business level skills in Japanese and English needed
