Role Summary

BMS Cruiserath is seeking a Senior Manager, Capital Procurement to lead sourcing efforts for capital equipment, projects, and related services across the Cruiserath campus. This is a business-critical role requiring a strong ability to manage multiple, shifting priorities with a high degree of independence. The Senior Manager must demonstrate excellent communication skills when engaging with internal stakeholders, senior leadership, and suppliers.

Reports to: Site-based Procurement Lead

Key Alignments: Global Procurement (GP) category leads; site departments including Engineering, EHS, and Manufacturing

Key Responsibilities

Capital Category Ownership

  • Own the capital procurement category strategy, including risk management, contractual and spend compliance, and cost savings/avoidance programmes for the Cruiserath Biologics Campus
  • Develop a site strategy and framework in collaboration with project teams for the capital portfolio, including:
    • Developing MSAs and contracts with key vendors
    • Creating a category playbook to ensure compliance with business policies
    • Establishing KPI/metric scorecards for key capital vendors

Sourcing & Procurement Execution

  • Lead sourcing projects for high and low-impact capital projects directly affecting the Cruiserath site, including equipment train expansions, facility upgrades, and other projects affecting site footprint
  • Create, issue, and manage large-scope RFPs, CDAs, addenda, negotiations, contracts, and awards associated with site-critical projects
  • Lead procurement efforts to achieve cost savings objectives related to capital projects
  • Provide procurement support for cost estimation prior to project budget finalisation
  • Determine appropriate methods of procurement; lead preparation of competitive go-to-market events with pertinent specifications, terms, and conditions
  • Prepare for and/or lead supplier negotiations depending on category complexity; evaluate competitive offerings and recommend the overall best offer
  • Leverage e-sourcing tools, including reverse auctions, to achieve year-over-year cost savings

Strategic Planning & Category Management

  • Own development of strategic category plans; collaborate with category leaders and business partners on plan development
  • Independently lead strategic category planning for selected categories where appropriate
  • Collaborate with and support Site Procurement across the biologics network and category owners on strategy development and procurement execution

Budget & Financial Management

  • Drive the annual budget process for the Cruiserath projects team, working closely with programme management, category leaders, site finance, general management, and GP Finance
  • Support budget management processes as required for assigned categories
  • Prepare periodic category performance reports for assigned categories

Supplier Relationship Management (SRM)

  • Manage SRM processes including supplier and category segmentation, KPI/metric development, scorecard design, and contract management
  • Facilitate continuous improvement and supplier-enabled innovation through SRM programmes
  • Enable the Head of Sourcing and Sourcing Managers to achieve strategic objectives

Stakeholder Engagement & Compliance

  • Proactively engage with business stakeholders to ensure timely and flawless execution of start-up activities, in compliance with procurement processes and policies
  • Partner with site finance, tax compliance, legal, and enterprise operations managers to resolve site continuity issues related to purchasing
  • Partner with site finance for site audit preparation
  • Support design and development of procurement compliance programmes
  • Support risk management efforts at Cruiserath and within the biologics network
  • Assist in the preparation and issuance of contracts and large purchase orders for legal review and approval

Leadership

  • Provide leadership and guidance to department personnel executing sourcing events
  • Collaborate with and support a team of network procurement operations personnel in achieving best-in-class biologics site objectives

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • Associate's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 6–10 years of relevant work experience, with a minimum of 3–5 years in Procurement
  • Demonstrated experience in Capital Procurement or Quantity Surveying (capital equipment, construction projects)
  • Proficiency in contract development
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and tasks effectively
  • Demonstrated success working in a cross-functional team environment
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, analytical, and negotiation skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and customer service orientation
  • Proactive, creative approach to continuous improvement and identifying new opportunities
  • High degree of independence, requiring minimal supervision from senior management

Preferred

  • MBA strongly preferred
  • Prior cGMP experience in biopharmaceuticals, pharmaceuticals, or medical devices; experience in any regulated industry will be considered
  • Knowledge of Infinity, SAP, or other ERP systems
  • Relevant industry certifications (CPM / CPSM / CSCP / CPIM
