About the Role

Contribute to defining the AI strategy and roadmap, establishing a clear vision, goals, and technical direction.

Lead the team in delivering impactful AI solutions aligned with business goals, ensuring optimal cost, quality, and delivery within defined resources.

Take full responsibility for technical architecture and team management, covering algorithms, platforms, testing, and system development for Gen AI and non-Gen AI applications.

Responsible for the design of end-to-end solutions for efficient delivery by internal teams or external vendors.

Oversee model development and integration, ensuring seamless alignment with system architecture and workflows.

Continuously optimize models to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and business value while meeting cost, quality, and timeline targets.

AI strategy and roadmap 

  • Contribute to shaping the AI vision, strategy, goals and roadmap 

  • Define the execution plan to implement the AI strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements 

Advanced analytics, AI/Gen AI, and emerging technologies deployment 

  • Source, acquire, embed and scale advanced analytics, AI/Gen AI, and emerging technologies 

  • Develop AI/Gen AI capability frameworks and development plan 

  • Stay abreast of technological advancements and evaluate their potential for business growth 

  • Ensure compliance, system stability, and technical foresight in all solutions 

Foundation applications management 

  • Provide technical oversight for model design, training, deployment, and seamless integration with system architecture and user workflows 

  • Collaborate with product, business, algorithm, and other departments to ensure technical solutions support business growth 

  • Oversee the development and delivery of back-end and front-end applications, ensuring high development velocity and quality 

  • Monitor model accuracy and system effectiveness post-deployment; drive continuous optimization based on feedback and evolving data 

  • Ensure quality delivery of technology solutions and track their impact post-implementation 

Team Management 

  • Lead and develop the technical team, comprises of core team of about 3-4 members and project team which will vary by the project scope 

  • Responsibilitites include recruitment, training, performance management, and fostering collaboration. 

  • Serve as the key backup to the Director of Innovation Lab, ensuring continuity in leadership, oversight of strategic initiatives, and seamless management of responsibilities when required. 

Financial and Non-Financial Measures

  • Achieve timely and quality-driven project outcomes. 

  • Stakeholder feedback on project delivery as a critical performance metric 

  • Enhance overall organizational efficiency and business effectiveness. 

  • Compliance audit outcomes 

Communication Requirements

Internal 40% 

  • Internal communication to Group and BU leadership teams 

  • Internal collaboration with Developers, Product Manager, Backend and Frontend leads, Algorithm Developers. 

  • End users from the Business 

External: 60% 

  • Maintain strong and effective communication with project stakeholders, business units and technical teams to ensure project efficiency and maximize stakeholder satisfaction. 

  • Communicate efficiently with external partners on matters related to technology and innovation. 

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, AI, or a related field. 

  • Demonstrated expertise in emerging technologies and their application in business. 

  • Proven track record of success in R&D and deploying large-scale applications, preferable with AI, LLM, agentic AI or data analytics. 

  • 12+ years of experience in technology roles. 

  • Proven experience driving high-impact technology initiatives across complex, global organizations. 

  • Strong leadership qualities, including presentation, and influencing 

  • Experience in strategic planning and change project management. 

  • Understanding of the Chinese technology landscape is an asset. 

  • Strong command of written and spoken English and Chinese is required to effectively communicate across diverse teams and stakeholders.
