The Team:

The Joint Development Team is a small, independent, cross-disciplinary group working within the Data Center & Energy division of Analog Devices, Inc. Its charter is to accelerate the development of key components, systems, algorithms and techniques necessary to advance the state of the art in targeted areas within these market segments and to collaborate with focused product development teams to get these advances to the marketplace. Past, current and future research areas include energy metering & fault detection, advanced medical devices, imaging, security electronics, ultra-precision references and data converters.

The group is led by ADI Fellow Jed Hurwitz, a pioneer in CMOS imaging, recognized expert in ultra-high precision and energy systems, and of broad industrial experience. The group culture aims to foster a challenging, exciting, and supportive environment.

The team members must be comfortable working on a wide variety of products and technologies in a fast-paced and agile environment and will be exposed to various groups across the corporation’s many sites through all stages of the development cycle.

The Position: The Joint Development Team is looking for a SENIOR MANAGER - DESIGN ENGINEERING to join lead our Philippine group. The candidate must be self-motivated, willing to learn new technologies and develop new products but also work effectively within a talented group of individuals across multiple R&D sites. The candidate will always drive for Best-In-Class IP performance focused on a wide variety of technologies. The candidate will contribute to the definition and development of products such as:

  • Contactless AC and DC current sensing
  • Hall sensor integration and readout circuitry
  • Various types of electrical fault detection

Responsibilities:

  • IP Development
    • Define and contribute to the JDT product and IP Road Map
    • Streamline IP development, improve Team Flows and Methodologies
  • IC Development
    • Drive next generation integrated circuit specifications, architectures, design, as well as pre-silicon verification and post-silicon bench evaluation
    • Provide guidance to physical design layout team
    • Develop optimal IC solutions, with considerations on power, performance, area, risk, resources and schedule
  • Technical Customer Interface Engagement
    • Participate in customer engagements, in support of technical feasibility and proposals
    • IC Development Weekly meetings / IC Milestone Workshops
    • In Production IC Support
  • Team Development and Leadership
    • Build and mentor a multi-disciplined engineering team, supporting recruitment, onboarding, and continuous learning.
    • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence.
    • Provide technical leadership and guidance in project management, task planning, and resource allocation.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering, with 10+ years of experience
  • Experience in leading complex IC and IP developments, Analog Design experience with multiple products introduced into the market, with Integrated Power functions
  • Strong technical and analytical background with good problem-solving skills
  • Experience with multi-discipline, multi-cultural and multi-site environments
  • Good understanding of Mixed-Signal Design Flow and Top-Down development methodology
  • Excellent written and verbal communication

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

  • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional, multi-site teams.
  • Proficient with Cadence Suite (Virtuoso ADE Spectre)
  • Scripting languages (Shell, TCL, PERL, Python)
  • HDL programming languages (Verilog / SystemVerilog)
  • Experience in high-voltage low geometry process technology
  • Lab silicon bring-up evaluation and Production Test support experiences
