As a Senior Manager, Agile and AI Delivery Lead within Bristol Myers Squibb's AI Venture Studio, you will serve as the operational backbone of a newly formed team that provides engineering talent and technical leadership to the AI Accelerator Program (AIAP). You will facilitate agile ceremonies and delivery cadences for the Venture Studio's engineering pods while also driving program operations across the broader AI Accelerator portfolio of active products spanning Research, Drug Development, GPS, Commercialization, and Enabling Functions.

The Senior Manager will maintain real-time awareness of product health across all active waves, attend sprint reviews, track action items and blockers, and coordinate across product owners, tech leads, and program leadership to keep team performing at fast pace. This person supports the team's rapid growth by directly supporting recruiting efforts and onboarding new team members as the studio scales up. This role goes well beyond traditional scrum facilitation — you will be the person who ensures nothing falls through the cracks across a fast-moving, high-visibility program.

Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Agile Facilitation and Team Operations

  • Facilitate agile ceremonies (standups, sprint planning, backlog refinement) for AI Venture Studio engineering pods.

  • Help establish and evolve team operating cadences as the team expands and the pod structure matures from formation through steady-state delivery.

  • Remove blockers, track team capacity, and coordinate cross-pod dependencies to keep delivery moving.

  • Establish and maintain delivery health metrics to drive visibility, predictability, and continuous improvement across pods.

  • Coordinate onboarding for new team members including first-week logistics, introductions, tooling setup, and project assignments.

AI Accelerator Program Operations

  • Attend sprint reviews across 8-12 active AI Accelerator products on a biweekly or monthly cadence, capturing status, key decisions, blockers, and action items.

  • Maintain a consolidated, up-to-date view of product health across all products.

  • Support product charter review processes for new product waves by providing feedback on draft charters, coordinating team review status and feedback, and flagging for staffing or feasibility concerns.

  • Participate in program management meetings and follow up on action items across workstreams.

Stakeholder Coordination and Communication

  • Serve as a reliable point of coordination between the AI Venture Studio, the AI Accelerator Program office, tech leads, and product owners across the product portfolio.

  • Draft meeting summaries, status updates, and routine communications on behalf of the team.

  • Help prepare materials and talking points for leadership meetings and program reviews.

  • Proactively identify risks, scheduling conflicts, and resource contention across workstreams and escalate as appropriate.

Team Growth and Evolution Support

  • Help shape the AI Venture Studio's operating model, delivery standards, and agile practices as the team scales from formation to steady-state.

  • Support the team lead with reviewing candidate profiles, conducting interviews, and onboarding follow-through as the studio ramps hiring.

  • Coach team members and pod leads on agile best practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, experimentation, and delivery accountability.

  • This responsibility evolves as the team matures; early emphasis on recruiting and operating model design shifts toward coaching and optimization at steady state.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum education of a bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, business, or a related field is required.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience, including at least three (3) years as a Scrum Master, Agile Coach, or Delivery Lead.

  • Demonstrated expertise facilitating agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives) and supporting sprint-based project tracking.

  • Advanced proficiency with agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, Trello, or similar), and experience updating agile dashboards, burn-down charts, and Kanban boards.

  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional agile teams, coordinate meetings, and track progress, risks, and deliverables across multiple concurrent projects.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for drafting sprint summaries, status emails, meeting minutes, executive reports, and stakeholder communications.

  • Ability to interpret and communicate technical AI/data concepts to non-technical audiences; deep technical expertise is not required.

  • Familiarity with compliance and governance standards (e.g., GxP, data privacy, regulatory requirements) is a plus.

  • Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives through agile feedback loops, retrospectives, and data-driven process enhancements.

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable, with a proven track record of optimizing project workflows in dynamic, fast-paced settings.
