Senior Manager, 3rd Party Marketplace Growth

Position Summary
As the Sr Manager, 3rd Party Marketplace Growth, you will develop strategic plans for key 3rd Party Marketplace partners, chart new ways to grow the business, and manage the P&L in partnership with your Lead Director. This role requires that you are able to effectively influence others while you establish and nurture partnerships with cross-functional teams (i.e. marketing, analytics, legal, procurement, merchandising, and digital product management) across the broader CVS Health organization. This role also requires great intellectual curiosity to delve into the business results, and understand what trends are emerging in the market, on a category, brand, and SKU level such that we are continuously optimizing the customer experience on marketplace platforms.

Primary Job Duties

Strategic Planning - 30%

  • Develops short- and long-term strategy for 3rd Party Marketplace partners including assortment plans, pricing strategies, promotional calendars, and technology enhancements.
  • Develops and nurtures strong relationships with cross functional partners including front store category management, digital product, engineering, legal, procurement, and marketing.
  • Analyzes overall Delivery Marketplace business. Understand performance and market trends.
  • Manages the relationship between assigned 3rd party vendors, setting up contact negotiations, working on SOWs and managing relationship during the duration of the contract. 
  • Assigns appropriate timelines and accountabilities for items, empowering the team to drive action steps to completion.
  • Leverages thought partners (Senior leaders, corporate partners, peers, team, etc.) as needed to create and revisit the strategy.
  • Navigates ambiguity and change to achieve goals despite potential obstacles.
  • Aligns the team to establish, update and maintain a clear set of actions including interdependencies needed to achieve overall goals. 
  • Drives strategic initiatives and KPI performance.
     

Drive Innovation - 30%

  • Drives technology enhancement roadmap for Delivery Marketplaces in partnership with vendors and the digital product team.
  • Identifies business growth opportunities with both existing and new partners in the Delivery Marketplace space.
  • Partners with analytics to synthesize complex partner and product performance data as well as voice of customer data to form actionable insights to accelerate growth.
  • Partners with vendors to understand market insights and trends, identify new opportunities and innovative ways to drive the business.
  • Looks for ways to break through implementation barriers rather than be impeded by them.

Culture  of Talent Development - 20%

  • Leadership: Providing guidance, direction, and support to teams and departments to ensure smooth operations and optimal performance.
  • Participates with onboarding tasks for new hires; builds, maintains, and enhances all onboarding documentations.  In addition, teaches the intangibles of what is user experience, how it impacts our business and how to identify the work needed to be done to achieve financial goals.
  • Responsible for leadership development, succession planning, and driving engagement programs for the team you oversee. Ensure development and mentorship of next generation of leadership talent.
  • Creates a culture centered on inclusion and well-being.
  • Promotes a high-performance culture by clearly setting goals and expectations.
  • Acts as a trusted coach and mentor for team to develop and support IDPs for high potential talent.
  • Leverages existing enterprise tools, such as talent profiles and enterprise development programs, to develop talent.
  • Establishes and enforces policies and procedures that promote ethical behavior, compliance, and best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years’ experience in merchandising, program management, onsite merchandising, digital product management, or related field, especially in a consumer-focused, multiple product category e-commerce sites
  • 8+ years’ experience understanding and managing retail financial metrics.
  • 8+ years’ experience managing vendors and 3rd party relationships.
  • 8+ years’ experience being an entrepreneurial, out-of-the-box thinker who is intellectually curious with a strong work ethic.
  • 8+ years’ experience demonstrated ability to multitask, adapt to changing priorities, be decisive under ambiguity, and meet tight deadlines.
  • 8+ years’ experience leveraging strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate rationale and needed courses of action to engage diverse audiences and influence senior executives.
  • 8+ years of demonstrated successful leadership experience in a highly competitive environment.
  • 8+ years’ proven track record of influencing others with and without authority
  • 8+ years’ experience building high-performing, successful teams developing key talent. Demonstrated passion for bringing new leaders along and helping them realize their ability to impact the business.
  • 8+ years’ experience leading under pressure, adapting to changing dynamics in real time, and finding solutions that satisfy multiple ‘customers’ of the business.
  • 8+ years’ experience understanding and breaking down highly complex situations to deliver impactful solutions in real time. 
  • 8+ years’ experience effectively demonstrating excellent verbal and written communication skills, very strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • 8+ years’ experience collaborating effectively across different business functions, different perspectives, and different styles of leadership.
  • 5+ years’ experience managing a P&L.
  • Skilled in Agile Framework for product development
  • Demonstrated ability to understand not only business KPIs and initiatives, but also possess a deep understanding of the technical backend and be able to participate in project release and business requirement documentation.
  • Deep understanding of consumer behavior combined with creativity and nimbleness to deal with complexity and to quickly action on findings.
  • Strategic thinker complemented with ability to develop and communicate solid plan.
  • Proficiency in working with data to develop measures and metrics that yield actionable insights to business owners.
  • Ability to drive efficient and effective planning processes by implementing and upholding a strong project management discipline across boundaries.
  • Expertise leveraging MS Office Suite, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint capabilities.
  • Any additional tasks as required by manager or supervisor.
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience

  • Travel- Ability, and willingness, to travel regularly, 10% of time, based on needs of the business.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$82,940.00 - $182,549.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
