The Legal team provides expert guidance and support on legal matters to protect the organization's interests, manage risks, and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.

The Senior Legal Counsel will be responsible for guiding cross-functional business teams across the organization, including analyzing, drafting, and negotiating commercial agreements; providing regulatory and compliance support to the business; and supporting business teams with risk analysis, strategic legal advice, and legal research.

What you'll get the opportunity to do:

  • Research and advise internal stakeholders on legal issues and regulatory compliance best practices across key areas, including employment, privacy, and intellectual property law
  • Develop and implement legal processes, policies, and procedures to support compliance and risk mitigation
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements to protect company interests and identify potential risks
  • Analyze contracts and provide clear, actionable recommendations to business and leadership teams
  • Partner with the Associate General Counsel on complex agreements, ensuring appropriate oversight and approval
  • Lead legal process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, scalability, and cross-functional collaboration
  • Design and deliver legal education and resources to empower teams with practical guidance and self-serve tools
  • Manage external counsel and vendors supporting legal and procurement activities
  • Support corporate development initiatives, including financings, M&A, and other strategic transactions

What you'll bring to the team:

  • J.D. (or equivalent international law degree)
  • 4 years of corporate/commercial law experience in-house or at a law firm (or combined)
  • Experience managing junior lawyers/students or clerks
  • Member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario (or applicable provincial regulator)

Canada Base Hiring Range:
$160,000$170,000 CAD
