  • Provide data and privacy-related legal advice and day-to-day support required to Tencent’s global businesses.
  • Advise on compliance across all aspects of global privacy laws and regulations, including data protection, data security and data breach rules.
  • Develop and implement program to facilitate compliance with international data privacy and personal information collection rules, regulations and standards, including the GDPR, CCPA and PDPO/ PDPA.
  • Manage and coordinate outside counsel for all privacy law projects.
  • Draft, review, negotiate and administer legal and commercial documentations.
  • Analyse global privacy legal requirements and keep our stakeholders abreast of all new privacy laws and regulations that may have implications to Tencent.

Who We Look For

  • Common law qualified lawyer with at least 4 years PQE, including at a law firm and/or in-house experience.
  • Able to work independently while contributing effectively in a team environment.
  • CIPP/E and CIPM certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
  • Proven track record in dealing with data and privacy issues relating to international businesses. Experience in the design and implementation of a global privacy compliance program is a plus.
  • Experience in conducting data privacy reviews of products, including ROPs, PIA and TIAs, to ensure compliance with global privacy regulations and internal policies.
  • Demonstrated experience in working closely with business teams and technical teams throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Strong interest in the internet, gaming, cloud services and AI space.
  • Proven track record in problem solving, analytical and organizational skills.
  • Proactive approach and able to handle matters independently.
  • Sound interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese (Mandarin) to interact with stakeholders in China HQ and other regions.
