About The Team

Murdoch University is the only Australian University with an on-site Farm, supported by three other properties in surrounding areas. We pride ourselves on graduating Veterinarians with excellent competencies, research experience and problem-solving skills. A core part of the training is development of core clinical competencies and part of this process veterinary science students will undertake training in our hospital, clinics and clinical services. Production Animal Medicine is a key discipline with a busy hospital and ambulatory service. The discipline also contributes to research in production animal medicine and supports a clinical service for The Animal Hospital and externally to the community of Western Australia.

The Role

As a Senior Lecturer (Level C) in the Production Animal Medicine Area, you will have the chance to contribute towards and conduct the teaching program in the area. All staff participate in the clinical service, to be able to teach authentically. You will have the opportunity to play a role in scholarship and clinical/professional activities. Within in this discipline you will need to perform a broad range of administrative functions and professional activities.

What you’ll bring to this role

Senior Lecturer

  • A veterinary degree registrable by the Veterinary Practice Board of Western Australia, and memberships or other certification in production animal medicine or related areas of expertise
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, past success in working effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary and collegial team and demonstrated success as a leader in teaching and learning, research, and administrative activities at the school level.
  • The ability to work under broad direction only, exercise initiative in undertaking responsibilities and work effectively as a team member.
  • Experience in teaching food animal medicine to veterinary medicine students.
  • Demonstrated links with relevant industry groups and external stakeholders that will advance the teaching and research interests of the School and the University.
  • Recognition at national or international level for clinical/professional practice scholarship.

This Continuous, Full Time  attracts a remuneration of $79,915 – $107,770 plus 17% employer superannuation contributions.
